Anybody who owns a dodge challenger

Just want to ask if anybody have a dodge challenger...

If you have you are welcome to post pictures of it.
This is just my all time favorit car but here in denmark you cant buy it or rather you have be very rich to have this car and drive around in it...

And what does this mean machine cost in the states...

leftturn109 10-14-2004 01:32 AM

i dont own one but i put a $4000 dollar paint job on one a few months back if your willing to do the work you can find them in fealds for dirt cheap but a full restore cost tens of thousands.

Dizzet 10-14-2004 01:49 AM

yes i could restore it but when i whant plates on it so i can drive in denmark it costs about 50,000 dollars... and the prizes on gas are about 5 dollers a gallon

Dizzet 10-14-2004 03:22 AM

yeah its the 1970 model damn its so fucking lovly well thats why I one day want to live in the states and work... You really know how to make fine cars...

Lockjaw 10-14-2004 05:17 AM

We USED to know how...now we make bastardizations of the classics.

They are supposed to be bringing the Challenger back...but instead of V8 RWD and two doors they siad it's going to be a V6 AWD abomination.

The one Troy (Rad Rides By Troy) did for Joe Rogan on Rides this past Tuesday was one of the best Cuda's I have ever seen. biggest engine and it ran 4 inchs off the ground!

Lockjaw 10-14-2004 08:50 AM

Ahh see I didn't watch that and I wished I did. I watched the Overhaulin' crew do up that guys Challenger but I would have liked to see the Cuda get done as well.

Man...why did Dodge ever get of the pony car business...as much as I like Mustangs I'd kill for a modern Cuda or Challenger. Can you imagine that 6.1 Hemi crammed into a car that weighed like 3400 lbs? Drool...

He was probably the person most in love with his ride that has ever been on that show. Half the people are almost comatose when they show them their cars. Personally they would have to get the jaws of life to get me off of Chip Foose if they did my car up like that. I'd likely drop trou right there and hump the tail pipe of the car I'd be so happy.

Scorps 10-14-2004 10:36 AM

LMAO...the one where they did up that first year mustage was a good one..he loved that car.

Chip also did Rogans car design, Jow just changed the paint right at the end!

My first car was a 74 challenger. Nice car, you have great taste!

Isn't Chrysler supposed to bring out a Charger with the Hemi in the next year or two? From the sketches I've seen it looks like that will be ~3500lbs.

Sadly, we'll never see anything even close to the muscle car era again. Gas will never be that cheap again, emissions laws are too strict, and insurance companies are too willing to bend you over. They can do some very cool stuff with forced induction these days, but there's just no replacement for displacement.

I was next to a beautiful, mint Chevelle SS the other day, and it still blows my mind that you could walk into a dealership and just buy something like that. I'd have loved to have been around back then.

The muscle car wars are in full effect actually and they are bordering on the level of flat out dwarfing what was out in the 60s.
The only problem is they are hot machines wrapped in dull packages.
And the new Charger is coming out but considering it's going to be a 4 door based on the LX platform(think 300C) it's going to be 3800-4000 lbs easily.
It'll be fast but it's going to be heavy.
That same power in a Mustang sized car....can you say 12 second quarter miles bone stock...oh yes you can...

Dizzet 10-14-2004 10:17 PM

Damn all that muscle you have in youer cars. Here in denmark I can only afford an VW POLO GT 1,3 from 1982

Have you checked on seeing how much a new Mustang GT would cost to import? They are like 24k in the states.

Scorps 10-15-2004 08:38 AM

I got 82 chevy van with a 350..right now the engine is almost back together...after that I want to add a 3 or 4 inch exhaust then maybe find a dyno...I hope this thing will put out 300hp. Gotta love the older muscle..I will not buy anything newer then 20 years old....just so I can leave the Cat off

Lockjaw 10-15-2004 10:11 AM

Eh the tech has progressed far enough now cats aren't that bad of a thing now like they used to be. I know of several guys running 400 RWHP on stroked Ford V8s fully smog legal and everything with cats.

Scorps 10-15-2004 10:24 AM

But I don't need a cat so why but one on.....but the fruits at the muffler shop did, they suck 300 dollars out of my dad for a peace of metal that is 1 foot long...like WTF, so I'm taking it off!
