Help- looking for jeep parts
Anyone know of a good place to get used jeep parts? I desperately need the intake manifold (not the exhaust manifold) for my 87 jeep ( 4 cylinder, automatic ) cherokee, and have had no luck finding one anywhere- and the dealership wants over 500 dollars for it new- more than the whole vehicle is worth- if anyone knows of a parts place online, or one that can ship to missouri it would be a great help.....

go to www.car-part.com it will find a junkyard with a price of an intake for you....

A million thank yous- I tried every parts store, and a 14 salvage yards.......

Good luck finding a jeep in a salvage yard around here...
In all my days of junkyard runs, i've only ever seen one twice. and both were totally stripped. |

Fire, I can look around up here for one for you, but I think that you're gonna have a hard time because of that 4 banger motor ya got. Most Cherokee's have a V6. I'm betting that, since it's an '87, its got a GM engine. Back then AMC bought their motors from GM. Try looking for an intake manifold for a GM engine...not a Jeep. You may have a lot better luck. |
yeah, round here, there was a flood back in 93- and almost every salvage yard was in that flood plain- hence, nothing earlier than 94 anywhere within 100 miles, unless it was trucked in- seems wierd, cause some places got a plethora of jeeps, some have nada at any price- that site merker posted lists a bunch though, and at good prices- if it comes to it though, Ill look for the gm engine intake- thanks to everyone, btw, am I alone in that to me it always seems like when your gonna make an old beast of a vehicle alive again, all the little shit just creeps up and snowballs?

I have a 1988 Jeep Cherokee with 392 000 KM on it and it runs like a beauty. Couldn't ask for a tougher car, keep up with it if you can.

I'm almost positive that 4 Wheel Drive Hardware will have anything that you need.
They only sell parts for Jeeps. They're located not too far from me in Ohio, and I bought all kind of stuff from them when I had a Jeep a few years back. http://www.4wd.com/ |
Umm, I live in T-town, the home of the Jeep. There's a store in town that specializes in parts. They don't have a web page, but I can pass the phone number to you, if you'd like. I'm sure they have a cataloge.

The internet junk yard link is a good suggestion. You also might try phoning "Vintage Jeep, Inc". I have found several very rare Jeep parts using them. Their web site ( www.vintagejeepparts.com ) will give you both their e-mail address and their phone number. Good luck.
