Looks pretty nice, I can't wait to get one, my '95 Z28 is starting to show her years. It does look a lot like the new mustang, but that older style camaro and mustang had a lot of similarities.
One thing that does need to be changed is the back, it doesnt look like it has an aggresive stance like the 5th and 4th Gens do. |

That Charger is unfortunate. Looks too much like the Magnum/300.
I like the retro thing. The new GTO is a travesty of body design. It looks like an Integra humped a Grand Am. Muscle cars are supposed to look muscular; leave the spaceship look to the imports. |

The V6 model?
Probably 21k or so. Camaros have always been just a LITTLE bit more expensive than their Mustang counterparts and the 05 V6 Mustang starts at just under 20k. And Pain Train why the Mopar dislike? They've almost always had some of the baddest street machines around. |

And yes, we all know the GTO is a flop. Seriously, what were they thinking with that?

I don't think the GTO was that bad..but I'm still hearing rumors that the Monte Carlo is going back to its old ways...GTO power train(350 or LS-1 with RWD) with a whole new body design. |

Daimler Chrsyler did some wonderful things with the 300 and the Magnum it made it so that you could get a cool looking car at a reasonable price. Not everybody wants to drive a boring car but at the same time they don't want to drive something that's impractical. For the last 20 years it's like good looking, interesting and practical were mutually exclusive terms. I honestly get jealous when I look at the styling of the cars from the 50s and 60s and some from the early 70s. A 57 Chevy was a common commuter car back in the day but if you drove by in one of those today you'd turn heads because they actually look good nearly 50 years later...they are classics. Fast forward to 2050...do you think anybody will be clamoring to look at the old 2004 Camary or 2005 Accord? No because they are boring and heartless. Hopefully in the next few years the car companies will start producing cars that fall back in line with those classic looking cars of the past and start making things that fit more the North American cultural and vehicular heritage. Personally I'm tired of all the Japanese and Euro styling rip of domestics. A look that in my opinion doesn't look all that nice in it's original execuction much less an American bastardization of it. |

The new Charger is too much like the Magnum, and has got too much of this new Dodge design theme incorporated into it's design. Although a retro-ish Charger would follow in line with the new retro Cobra, Mustang, and possibly Camaro, this is just downright fugly. And that green is much too bright. I'm pretty sure the original Charger green was much more muted.

For whatever the reason yes they are lagging behind. People buying Vettes aren't going to cross shop with a Mustang. And people that want to drive 2+2 V8 RWD pony car have the Mustang....and that's it. 5 years is a long long time in the car world to not have any product in a given niche if you are serious about that niche in the least.

I'm a member on the site where that Camaro drawing originated. It was based on information from a very reliable source. Information has since dried up, and that Camaro which was almost a sure thing a few months ago is now up in the air.

Im a fan of the idea when a car is retired let it be. We saw what they did to the GTO, no way to honor the judge with a rebadged Austrialian car, not that it's a bad car by any means, just that I dont think it deserves GTO name plate. You can tell by my user name im a big fan of the F-Bodys' I own a T/A and a Z/28, (lol and an STI) it made me sad to see the cars go away but I would hate to see them come back a some rebadged car.

I didn't like to see the GTO come back like that but the 05' looks badass, but I'm for the power not all for the looks. And buy the look of both the drawings I have seen the car doesn't look like another rebadge, but remember Pontiac screwed the GTO up Chevorlet doesn't make those kinda mistakes! |

I think GM would make the car look much more bland by the time it comes out. It'll probably be priced way up there too. Just look at the SSR and GTO.
You'd think the 4 door thing just assures they won't sell many Chargers to old musclecar enthusiasts if that was their target market.... but aren't those the buyers that want their SRT10's as a 4 door? |

When and if (I peronally am confident that it will come around) that camaro comes out, I have only one fear. I'm sure chevy will power the thing like crazy, at leas the SS version, but I am hoping and praying... That they dont come back with those ugly ass tail lights!!
I personally have hated the Camaro/Firebird from the year '70 till the last generation. And I didnt really like the last gen either. |
