Sorry, the ERDT site is down or defunct, so no pics, but one guy did a RWD conversion on his Escort GT, dropped a new engine/tranny in, it gets 545 hp. He had slips to prove it.

There it is. Holy shit. Time slip is hard to read, but with the photo evidence, it is hard to doubt his claims. Besides, the important part is that this guy should be everybody's hero. A RWD conversion to an Escort GT??? Funny thing is that there's a guy working on a AWD right now. They must have money and time generate magically in their ass or something...

you may be right, but my neighbor said he got about 13-14in his H2, and that was around Houston. I read an article about a superduty that got about 11-12 with the treads on it, so i made a guess for the H2 with them on.

I was going to say the same thing but ya beat me. Just wanted to say that more ambient comment had me cleaning my keyboard.

That intercooler ain't all that big really, especially considering the size of the guy's turbine housing. He's got to be running some pretty good boost.

A common mod for the 11-12 second turbo Dodge minivans is installation of an intercooler off a SuperDuty Ford deseil. Which takes up the entire front grill area of a 1st gen.

I think that shoe-bike-thing is gonna be featured on that new show Monster Nation on Discovery, it looks similar to a commercial I saw for it.

I'm disappointed about the 8-turbo engine. I was hoping I'd be the first one to do that next summer (yes, I'm completely serious)

I'd say that's 700hp easy with that turbo. That car is purpose built, not just some idiot with loads of money and no common sense. A friend took me for a ride in his T78 Supra only making 18psi or so because he didn't have enough fuel... It blew the tires off when it spooled and pulled like nothing I've ever felt in my life. 18psi may not even be in that turbos efficiency range, a smaller turbo might actually make more power at that pressure and yes, there was lag but the car length or two he gave up (primarily due to the auto tranny) would have been nothing compared to foot ball fields he'd put on the average modded street car. T78s run 9s through the 1/4 and the turbo on this BMW looks about the same size.

At first I figured he meant 13.5lbs per turbo, until I whipped out my calculator and discovered that would be 108lbs of boost total. Unless his sleeves are the thickness of the engine block, I don't think so

You guys might not want to completely discount everything you see. I'm going to assume by the obvious amount of time and money in the car that he knows a little something. To a certain degree, without getting uber technical, multiple small turbos will be an advantage with spool up. 8 may seem a bit crazy, but 4 should be very easy and 6 isn't exactly feasable with 8 cylinders. 4 turbos would be roughly the same displacement per turbo as a 3 liter with two turbos and that's not accounting for his built motor. What you may not realize about this car is that if he's only making 13.5 psi, neither the engine nor turbos are breaking a sweat. He'd get much longer life out of his motor than you would your Honda running 13.5 psi and he's already making 730hp.
