Anybody see the Charger concept at Mopar Nationals???

Has anybody seen the Dodge Charger concept live yet??? I saw it at Mopar Nationals at National Trail, and it looked freakin' sweet!!! 300+ hp in a natural gas car??? I just wonder how the engine sounds. Pic:

What do you all think???

The Charger's gonna run on Natural Gas? Im not saying your wrong, but that just doesn't sound right. CNG just isn't available enough to try and sell a car based on it. Everything i have seen about it sounds awesome, but i dont remembr anything about natural gas....

It's just a concept.. I hope it doesn't come to market. It's pretty ugly. The rear is lost.

I think it's a heck of a lot cooler looking than the new GTO, which looks like a Grand Am fucked an Integra. Talking about ruining a legend.

I love the styling of this car. I like everything about it. It's been in the concept stages for years now. I always remembered it running on CNG.

I just saw the thing on the cover of Car&Driver today. It's not the same car posted in this thread.

Heh my newbie first post...

That picture is of the 99 Charger concept that was developed before Daimler and Chrysler "merged". It was supposed to replace the Intrepid but it got killed before it got off the ground. The new Charger concept is supposed to be shown at the NAIAS in Detriot this winter, and there is a drawing of it in Car and Driver this month, allegedly.

I say allegedly because there's nothing official until the company shows it.

I hope that isn't official. It looks like a cross between a Chevy Malibu and a Chrysler 300C

eh... it's neat looking but if this is what it looks like, it's better than the first iteration, but I'll still wait to see it in person.

Other than the nose, the car is very Italian looking. They should have dropped the line coming off the rear quarter glass more towards the front wheel house. The door is rather flat and "American" looking (read freakin' huge) Still a good looking car. How long before somebody makes a nose kit? I hate that new Chrysler "family" nose treatment. Reminds me of a freakin' truck.

I'm a lot more concerned with performance and technological leaps. I mean this thing is the next generation of American muscle, build by a company owned by Mercedes, but still. Mercedes was responsible for the return of the Hemi and the recent hp gains in Daimler/Chrysler's lineup. The Magnum and Crossfire are built off of Mercedes platforms. I am expecting great things from this company in the next few decades. The Magnum didn't dissapoint, and neither will the supercharged Magnum, I suspect.

That is a computer rendering done by a guy named Kris Horton. It's just his take on what a modern Charger would look like. He's the same guy that did that computer rendering of a 5th generation Camaro that looked like a retro 1st generation. That is not anything from DCx at all.

Here's the latest breakin Charger rumor pic... Blurry as hell but at least it's a real car lol

The pic I posted was the exact same thing I saw at Mopar Nationals at National Trail Raceway in Ohio in early August. They don't plan on production of it, and if they do, they said it wouldn't be 'til 2007. The fact that is natural gas probably has something to do with that. Hell, I think it could be their attempt at making natural gas a more acceptable fuel to auto enthusiasts.
