Non Oxy Premium 92 octane gas
When I was cruising around the border of Minnesota I found a gas station that sells Non - Oxy Premium Gas...it's 92 octane and the sticker on the pump says to be used in collector or vehicles eligible to be collector vehicles, small engines or motorcycles. The gas is only $1.79 a gallon compared to $1.89 87 octane and $2.05 for 92 pump octane. I know I could run it in my carburated mustang but could I run it my cadillac which is fuel injected?

I thought only turbo and supercharged engines ran high octane gas like that...your mustage would run great with that but I wouldn't risk it with your caddy! But its your car;) |
If you put it in anything with a cat double check to make sure the high octane isn't because of lead additives. Leaded gas will plug up a cat almost immediately. Vintage vechicles (pre 72-78) and small engines don't have cats.

That gas would be good for a turbo car! |
You could run it in any engine (Assuming no lead), just have to bump the timing. Some cars have a knock sensor and you may not have to do anything (SHOs and Supercoupes) others you would need to time the distributor, and ones with completely electronic ignition would require a chip.
