Car lands on pedestrian in Intersection - Video
Red Light
DAYTON | Doctors revived a man Sunday just hours after medics pronounced him dead on the scene of a car crash, police officials said. Dayton Police Sgt. Charles Hurley said Scott Tegtmeyer was walking in the intersection of Third Street and Edwin C. Moses Boulevard at 12:40 p.m. when a Chrysler PT Cruiser ran a red light, struck a Subaru sports utility vehicle and sent it into the air. The Subaru landed upside down on Tegtmeyer and dragged him several feet across the intersection, Hurley said. Tegtmeyer, bloodied and surrounded by shattered glass, was pronounced dead on the scene, but he suddenly started breathing while in transit with paramedics. By 3 p.m., doctors had fully resuscitated him. On Sunday evening, he was in the Miami Valley Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Neither of the female drivers of the vehicles involved were carrying passengers. The woman driving the Subaru was transported to Miami Valley Hospital. Information on the condition of the driver of the PT Cruiser was not available. Hurley said police talked to eight witnesses. He also said it is possible a camera mounted high above the intersection captured the crash. Dayton police reconstructionists, trained at putting clues together after crashes, were on the scene with digital cameras and measuring devices. The flipped Subaru showed noticeable crash damage on the left body panel. Ten yards away, the customized P.T. Cruiser with a "AAA" sticker on the back of its tinted windows showed damage to its front end. |
jesus christ. To think he lived. Simply amazing.

That was his unluckiest and luckiest day all in one. I am glad he is gonna make it.

Damn, better look out next time walking..scary
|
Jesus... that is quite disturbing..

Where did the video come from?
Is that the 'reconstruction' video? Inquiring minds want to know. |

The video Is real, It's not a reconstruction video. |
I'm glad that guy made it okay. I was very suprised to see the scoobie go airborne. Amazing that he can live through that, kudos to the medics and doctors that helped him through it.
|
Whoa, glad for the cameras...man I hope he makes it
|
All I can say is wow, maybe the pt cruiser driver will think twice about running red lights.
|
Wow, that was one lucky guy. Can you say " Sue the Hell out of that driver that ran the red light".
|
Again, wow. I couldn't stop watching it.
Two nice details: (1) the guy turning to see the crash he just heard, then trying to outrun the Subaru. (2) the way the headlights on the Subaru point directly at the camera just before the video ends. |
HOLY BAJEEBUS...that's nuts
1) that damn PT ran the light 2) the guy had to have been just past half way through when the lights turned yellow, homeboy should have been payin a bit more attention and realized the light was gonna turn red before he'd make it to the other side. |
so the driver in the PT was a female. i bet she was putting on make-up or talking on her cell. its unbelievable that she didnt notice the red! she had to be distracted by something.
|
I love this one...
"The flipped Subaru showed noticeable crash damage on the left body panel." Uh, yeah, just a little. How about the roof? Crazy video. |
I fixed the link :D
Someone switched the other video. Stuff the ballot box http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8203/sp7.jpg |
looks like he would've made it if the subaru hadn't gone sideways
|
WOW!
the PT cruiser must have been going fast to flip the other car like that! poor guy, good thing he sorta lived through that! |
if he had only ran the other way, he would have been just fine.....OUCH...incredible video...
|
Holy Shit!
|
How come the video got lighter before the accident? Are we positive that it is real?
|
OMG! glad that he's alive

how do you fake that? You can see the guy get ran over! |
Whats wierd is that if the padestrian was walking in the cross-walk and never heard the crash, he would might have made it even if he never saw it coming and changed course.
I hit a pedestrian once. He jumped on my car and did not want any emergency help. He even went to work afterwards. Later, I get a call from my insurance company that he is sueing me for $15,000. He got it too! |

Ok, so the pt ran the light really badly. However, the pedestrian should not have entered the intersection in the first place. He was going against the light in the first place. the subaru was probably speeding too.
|
Wow, I live in Dayton and this is the first I've heard of this.
When did it happen? And does anyone know if the guy was flown? My dad flies the medivac helo at Miami Valley Hospital. He might be able to get more info, like if the dude made it through the ICU or not. |
Holy crap...that's insane.
|
Hmmmmm, the first time I saw that video there was no pedestrian at all. I call bullshit on it.

The video Is Real, you can read about It ... here If you do not want to register, I put the page up ... here -Snip- Nine days earlier, a sport utility vehicle struck a pedestrian at Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and West Third Street, after a PT Cruiser ran a red light and hit the SUV. The SUV flipped twice, then hit Scott Tegtmeyer, 42, who remained in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital on Wednesday. The driver has not been charged. That crash was captured by a red-light enforcement camera. Dayton police say the cameras, installed at a dozen intersections across the city, helped reduce injury crashes caused by ignored traffic signals by 28 percent during the past year. |
Well, no luck with my dad. The guy wasn't flown out of there and he hadn't heard anything about it, though he's going to ask around the hospital.
|
that is friggin amazing, wild, insane, WTF!!

That woman in the PT Cruiser should never be allowed to drive again. No even a go-kart, hell not even a Segway. |
