not sure where this should go, not really a hobby forum here

absolutely amazing...

sixate 06-23-2004 04:43 PM

That is pretty fucking awesome. I wonder what it cost to build that thing.

BigGov 06-23-2004 04:54 PM

It doesn't look that great from the picture because you don't get an appriciation of the size unless you notice the runway.

http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/B_52_b.jpg

That helps out better :)

And I'm guessing somewhere in the $5,000 - $10,000 range.

JStrider 06-23-2004 05:03 PM

thats pretty badass...

ive got a lil remote control plane... still needs to be covered and have the guts installed...

Jeff 06-23-2004 05:19 PM

Holy shiat. That's cool. I love the sound it makes as it's flying overhead.

aurigus 06-23-2004 06:20 PM

Wow. I'm impressed. They sound like real jet engines too, I wonder how they do that.

BuDDaH 06-23-2004 07:13 PM

That is like SOOOO UBER.....
I can get into something like this....

Cynthetiq 06-23-2004 07:23 PM

:) nice! i just don't have the dexterity to build it... wish i did... but godzilla seems to always stomp on my plane somehow....

Fremen 06-23-2004 07:25 PM

Wow, that's beautiful!
I would be afraid to fly something that expensive, though.

Serpent 06-23-2004 07:46 PM

way more then 5-10k, if it has actual turbines your looking at probably 5k a piece for them.. (depending on the specs) then the aircraft is probably around 8-20 depending on what is all in it, and what it is made out of..

Fat_Boy 06-23-2004 07:58 PM

This thing is crazy. I think we need to load this up with some warheads and send it to Afghanistan.

We already have our Predator spy planes.

They are jet engines :)

GakFace 06-23-2004 10:14 PM

Now they just need to install a camera in the cockpit :D

I was thinking/certain of the same thing. They sure sound like jet engines.

ObieX 06-23-2004 10:48 PM

Seems like it would b a pain to land that

smoothcap 06-24-2004 06:32 AM

Speaking of RC Stuff, anyone know where on the net to shop for this stuff? I want to get my son into it, and looking around the other day, it seems that all the hobby stores in the DC area closed since I was a lad...

Cycler 06-24-2004 08:10 AM

Amazing, the time, detail.

assilem 06-24-2004 08:12 AM

Good for long range remote control bombing I assume. That would be great to stuff the bombing bays full of stink bombs and "level" Disneyland or something.

Bill O'Rights 06-24-2004 08:51 AM

Holy cow!! That thing is just freakin' awesome! And I'm not even a fan of rc planes. I am, however, a fan of the B-52. The detail is just phenomenal. I'd be afraid to fly it, for fear of busting it up.

ARTelevision 06-24-2004 09:51 AM

I love this.

Planes of this scale and sophistication are making significant contributions to many human endeavors.

Here's an example: check out the "PRODUCTS" section.

sky_driver 06-24-2004 11:34 AM

Now that is one nice RC airplane.

denim 06-24-2004 12:40 PM

Itty bitty jet engines! I wonder if the bomb bay works.

Yalaynia 06-24-2004 03:02 PM

That is pretty cool. I would be so afraid to fly it after all the time spent working on it my luck I would crash the thing while trying to land it.

World's King 06-24-2004 03:26 PM

I hope all those guys are married 'cause that ain't gonna help 'em get laid.

degrawj 06-24-2004 04:40 PM

i saw a video of that on milkandcookies.com that plane is fucking incredible!

DelayedReaction 06-24-2004 06:51 PM

That's pretty cool. Don't be surprised about the jet engines; I've seen gas turbine engines that are about that size. Pretty decent thrust/weight ratio too.

I want a stealth bomber version.

ultra_agent9 06-24-2004 07:38 PM

Wow! I'm very impressed! That's one expensive looking toy. Sounded pretty noisy didn't it? That's means you'd probably have to fly it at an abandoned airstrip or somewhere similar.

aurigus 06-25-2004 06:38 AM

I didn't believe they made jet engines that small, I thought there was a size requirement. A few minutes and googling later:

Impressive links! Thanks for posting them.

Craven Morehead 06-25-2004 06:04 PM

Here's the link the manufacturer of the jet engines for the plane

amazing

Stare At The Sun 06-26-2004 12:49 PM

They really do need a camera in the cockpit.

Amazing still though

Phaenx 06-27-2004 06:21 AM

I'd be carpet bombing the ducks down at the park here so hard if I owned one of those.

denim 06-27-2004 06:58 AM

phredgreen 06-27-2004 07:07 AM

thread moved to tilted motors

3x0 06-27-2004 11:13 PM

Woah... amazing

Super Model 06-28-2004 04:46 AM

Now this is awesome. Can't believe that thing existed! WOW

Seems to me, now that I've thought about it, that the Germans might come up with scale model flack.

RaDiAn 06-28-2004 08:16 AM

Man that is so cool....I my world I wonder with it being so small how tight the tolerance specs must be for a jet engine.

Must someone who would fly these things atleast on that scale have a license of some sort.
