Why don't we see this coming out to compete with the GTO? 1999 Dodge Charger Concept
Supercharged, 4700cc/287CID, 16-valve SOHC V8, 325HP@6K rpm and a 0-60 of 5.3 Why don't we see this in production yet? It's been 5 years since the concept, I really wish we could see the reincarnation of another classic muscle car. |

That profile looks Ferrariesque. Nice looking car. What are the performance stats (if there are any) on the car? Curious about how well CNG translates into horsepower and torque or is it virtually the same as gas?

Dodge is stupid for not making that car...they would have sold a lot of them to. I figured seeing the GTO reborn and the Mustang and Corvettes both getting huge facelifts Dodge would bring out a car with some power under the hood!

Yes I agree that it should be a 2 door just like the older models of charger....i love the back end of it...reminds me of a 69-70 charger......i bet they could sell alot of those......come to think of it...dodge doesn't really have any affordable fast cars?

they were going to go into production, along with the razor, however the german side axed it sighting they would be low volume cars. either way both could make a comeback, and the charger with the hemi would make it even more prodcuable...

no its good too.. just saying as the hemi is quickly become chyrslers corperate v8 of choice, putting it in the charger ocncept instead of CNG would be a naturale descison and would lower production costs. only problem is where it fits int he line up. depending on what they do with the LX platofrm, it would be a good replacement for the intrepid.

I remember seeing this car at the Detroit Auto Show in 1999 (I think). I liked it a lot. However, Chrysler gauges public reaction to determine whether the build concept cars. The reaction was not good at the time. Presently, there is no room in the lineup for a sports coupe. I would personally get rid of the Avenger or Stratus or whatever they call it and replace it with this.

Silent-Jay: Whats up with the Hemi hating? What do you got under your hood that makes a hemi look so shitty to you? You guys talk so much trash on the Hemi and I bet you have never even driven a vehicle with one of them in it. Seriously, tell me one good reason why there is a problem with the engine under my hood. I have over 17,000 miles on my truck and no problems. You guys dont even support your arguments you just talk useless trash.

That looks dope, no idea why they wouldn't put it into production. I think it looks better than the GTO. What Pontiac did to the look of the GTO is pretty fucking bland, imo.

Yes I have driven a new Dodge with the Hemi in it, we have one at work and no I'm not impressed at all, nothing dodge has put out recently impresses me not a thing. The Crossfire is Benz in the fron Chrysler in the rear, the SRT-4 is a neon, the SRT-10 is the ugliest truck I have seen in some time, the 300C is a cheap ass Bentley knock off, the Pacifica doesn't know if it's a wagon or a sport utility and it's just fat. I was pretty sure it was just a bunch of shit talking. Thats what the internet is for huh? I wont waste your time telling you I could outrace you because I have nothing to prove. I appreciate fast rides no matter who made em or what they look like. I am just a bit tired of having any and all dodge and chrysler threads getting cluttered up with unsubstantiated bull. I respect your opinion and your right to make it even if it does sound like trolling. Still, I would like to hear you back up what your saying. Thats it

I also appreciate fast rides, but what they look like does have bearing on my opinion of the vehicle. The Dodge and Chrysler threads aren't really getting cluttered with unsubstantiated bull it's more peoples opinions, and most of them aren't very high, and I can see how that would upset you. How can my opinion be trolling, should I pretty it up or something, I really don't like any product that Dodge makes minus the Viper and even that is getting changed for the worse. What would you like me to back up?

I'm locking this before anyone says anything they regret and gets themselves in trouble.
edit: also, please stop antagonizing silent_jay whenever the word "dodge" comes up. Last edited by MSD; 06-25-2004 at 08:07 PM.. |
