Oh, that Nissan.........*concept*

You may move this if you deem necessary........

Okay, so we've seen the new 2004 Nissan Quest- i really like it.

But how about this one? The Nissan Actic.........

and check this out:

The Actic interior design is based on the idea that its ultimate use and character will come from the needs and personality of its owner. “Actic does not fully come to life until the intelligent key fob is activated,” said Semple. “The fob is really a small, highly portable transmitting hard drive onto which the owner has loaded a host of data, preferences, settings and configurations.”

Visual information is displayed throughout the interior, whether on the driver-oriented instrumentation panels or on the more ambient overhead flat panel displays. All settings reside within the 100-gigabyte fob – not just standard audio and HVAC preferences but also e-mail and navi settings, and the content that governs and affects mood and ambience.
The sky theater glass paneled roof design includes the overhead display screens that allow endless opportunities for Actic users to play with the relationship between exterior and interior environments with custom video displays.

"Actic lets users introduce elements of personalization that were previously generic – for example changing night to day or a stormy outside setting to a sun-lit sky filtering through leaves," said Semple. “Nissan continues to look at the roof of vehicles as an area for innovation and creativity, like the current Maxima and Quest Skyview glass panel roof.”

Uh.....crazy, huh?

Great...that's just what we need in our cars. Cell-phone drivers are one thing, but can you imagine rush-hour traffic with half the people checking their email while going 70 mph? Accident waiting to happen.

As long as Nissan/Infiniti keeps designing for womens tastes, I'll be happy with Honda/Acura leading the way with more masculine designs and technology.

Asuka{eve} 05-06-2004 05:48 PM

Not bad I say.

brandon11983 05-06-2004 09:21 PM

That is the most disgusting pile of vomit ever seen.

Yeah, your right. The Honda Element is real "masculine".

That Nissan is ugly as all hell.

MSD 05-07-2004 05:22 AM

If you cover up everything but the grille, hood, and fron bumper, it looks like an electric razor with a Nissan logo.

Stare At The Sun 05-07-2004 08:39 AM

Its a progressive step towards an entire new generation of cars. I welcome the next generation.

Cynthetiq 05-07-2004 11:22 AM

looks too much like a mock up that it's not even funny.

primal 05-07-2004 10:21 PM

Not a big fan of this design. But I would disagree with the comments that Honda/Acura is beating Nissan/Infiniti in the styling department. I think the G35 coupe/sedan is one of the coolest looking cars for less than $35,000. I also like the FX45 and the 350Z.

BeBogus 05-07-2004 10:49 PM

i don't know if its just me, but there is not much a car company can do to make a minivan look masculine

Asuka{eve} 05-07-2004 11:06 PM

They could just offer consumers tracked vehicles or armored cars. :) :) :)

ASNstunta 05-07-2004 11:43 PM

That pic is what it is...a concept. All concepts are outrageous in every aspect to generate some feedback on it. Production models all end up watered down from their concept models.

But Nissan/Infiniti seems to be one of the more bolder car companies to put out stylish cars lately.

WarWagon 05-08-2004 01:51 AM

Hmm, I would have thought they'd at least finish the interior before releasing pics of it.

Scorps 05-08-2004 11:41 AM

After Nissan stopped making the 300 ZX and the 240 SX they went to hell!

Are you basing that statement purely off of this set of concept-car photographs?

World's King 05-08-2004 02:58 PM

I like it.

Booboo 05-08-2004 10:23 PM

Those tires are pretty sweet! =)

TopRamen66 05-08-2004 11:12 PM

98% of all new cars look terrible IMO.

phyzix525 05-09-2004 05:20 AM

I like those wheels though

shakran 05-09-2004 07:15 AM

checking email hell. I don't want people admiring the "sun filtering through leaves" projected on the ceiling of their car when they're on my tail, ya know?

It's ugly, that orange would drive you crazy after about 5 minutes, and I don't need to change the reality of the weather outside, thank you.

Boo 05-09-2004 12:00 PM

Unfortunately, it would still be a nissan. Therefore (IMO) not worth having.

Yeah, but what if we could be checking out the TFP going 70 mph?

And checking out the Titty board out at the same time:eek: .

Fenton-J-Cool 05-09-2004 07:36 PM

That is some serious shit. I would drive that car without a doubt.. but not a 2004 Quest. As unbelievably perfect as the van is now, by the time it hits production you won't even recognize it.

subz 05-09-2004 08:46 PM

That is freakin' ugly! What the hell is with that trailer. Seems like a waste of money to have those nice wheels on a trailer.

Asuka{eve} 05-11-2004 02:57 PM

I wonder if a razor will be a function in the car. Imagine if you can shave by rubbing your face against the grill.

RaDiAn 05-12-2004 08:38 AM

Whats with the tires??? trail or street....lol

FishKing 05-17-2004 06:27 PM

Boo can tell you stories about a Nissan with a dead battery. He was pushing the NO COMPRESSION motor and it still would not start.

The "NO COMPRESSION" part might have something to do with it not starting. ;)
