I loved this commercial when it came out...

it's long :)

Asuka{eve} 04-27-2004 10:48 AM

That was GREAT!!!:D

JStrider 04-27-2004 11:03 AM

that was way cool...

how do they make the cars spin like that... crazy...

it would be way cool to be that good of a driver and know how to do all those cool tricks...

Chingal0 04-27-2004 01:31 PM

Hah, badass commercial. Only part I don't understand is the red convertible. What does it run over, and why does it seem so epic as to merit like 5 camera angles?

Destrox 04-27-2004 08:19 PM

AHh yes, a total classic right there.

Shared by many, and enjoyed by all.

zxello 04-27-2004 08:33 PM

Wow...... that was friggin awesome

skier 04-27-2004 08:46 PM

I assume you can figure out the donuts, the others are accomplished with lots of shifting and complete disregard for the longevity of the transmission.

pocon1 04-28-2004 02:00 AM

Thank you for finding the whole piece. I had seen a segment of it, but never had from start to finish.

Also, with the convertible, the guy went over with his hands in the air. I think it was to illustrate how stable the car was even with both left tires blown out.

KiwiKiwi 04-28-2004 04:55 AM

Wow! I'd like to see the Outtakes clip sometime!

yah i knew the donuts... but i meant the other...

and yah... whats that red car running over?... is it poping a tire or somethin?

NoSoup 04-29-2004 07:47 AM

Probably the longest commercial I have ever watched, but the skill of those drivers is completely amazing. However, like a previous poster said, I too would like to see the outtakes...

lazyaznguy 04-29-2004 06:43 PM

wow... damn that's incredible

Pops the tires, guy has hands in the air, car still goes straight

The spinning is accomplished by slamming the shifter back and forth from reverse to drive every time the car starts to spin, and keeping th gas to the floor to keep it in motion.

It must be great to have cars to practice on!

greyeyes 05-02-2004 12:13 AM

kickass video

Grondar 05-02-2004 05:53 PM

This video is quite impressive..

Is it all legit?

Particularly, the part where the cars are on two wheels, and turn?

That's possible?

i take it you never got to see the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard or even the spin off Enos.

Yes, it's very possible, and easy to do. It's not CGI, look at the date at the end and you'll see the commercial is from 1988

wrongfullyaccuzd 05-02-2004 09:03 PM

Awesome video, thanks Cynthetiq.

BeBogus 05-07-2004 11:13 PM

that was truely amazing. That must have been quite a promotonal bit for saab in the 80s :)

matteo101 05-08-2004 01:00 PM

omid 05-08-2004 02:28 PM

sky_driver 05-08-2004 05:17 PM

Definately some impressive driving skills.

Fenton-J-Cool 05-09-2004 07:42 PM

Oh god.. instant classic. Does anyone know how the red car factors into all this though?

vector_1979 05-13-2004 12:41 PM

that was awesome. It was like the Italian job but without the Mini's.
