1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver mirror...

Problem - Tonight I was backing out of a friends driveway and their fence caught the drivers' side mirror and ripped the fucker from the door, threading the plastic deals that the screws go into, and the mirror assembly was hanging by the electricity cord that powers the mirror.

Question - Could I just glue the shit back on there with some heavy duty type shit from Home Depot OR should I spend the 300 or whatever dollars to get it professionally fixed?

Extra Info - The mirror is slightly cracked which is no big deal, and the mirror sits on the threaded screw things fine, I just want it to not fall off when I am going down the freeway.

Anyways, if anyone has had this happen, or knows how to quick fix it fairly inexpensively, enlighten me PLEASE!

The easiest and cheapest fix would be to run down to a junkyard and pull a mirror off another Cherokee, then install it yourself.

Yup, find a salvage yard, and get one from there. Maybe $100 at most.

Yea, I figured I would go that route, as I really don't want to just glue it.. But as far as the power wires and stuff, how hard would that be to install?

I ripped the passenger side mirror off my TrailBlazer on a telephone pole and found one on ebay. Cheap too

Could always JB Weld it if you want a little more security than duct tape. If you plan on replacing it anyway, that may be the route to go for a temporary fix.
