Anchorage

$1.63 for unleaded.

james t kirk 04-07-2004 08:14 PM

Toronto right now, 61.9 per litre.

That's about $2.25 Canadian per US gallon, or about 1.75 US per US gallon.

And that's the cheapest it's been in weeks.

Probably tomorrow, it will be up to 76 cents again.

98 oct: 1.1080€ / l = 4.194€ / gallon = 5.05343 $ / gallon
diesel: 0.8260€ / l = 3.126€ / gallon = 3.76658 $ / gallon

these are minimum prices for Belguim (I hope my calculations are correct)

looks quite expensive compared to the US :(

HO HO HO, you win there bud.

All you SUV drivers stand up and take note, cause in 3 or 4 years when China continues to suck up all the supply, this is what you are going to be paying.

Cuball 04-11-2004 12:39 PM

now that's one of the reasons why diesels are so popular in Europe, a 2.0l (130pk or something close to that) diesel engine goes for about 100km with 6l of diesel

wrongfullyaccuzd 04-11-2004 07:36 PM

In the DC Metro area the regular stuff was $1.82 the other day. At Costco though it's like $1.64.

Would you say that MOST cars in Europe get on average 6 litres per 100 km???

(I think that's about 40 MPG.)

I know my Buick averagees about 9.8 litres per 100 km.

Cuball 04-12-2004 03:33 AM

offcourse not most cars, but efficiλncy is an import factor when buying a car here... but offcourse if have to money to buy a high class cars that's not a factor anymore ...

merkerguitars 04-12-2004 06:51 AM

Weirdest thing happend.......in my town gas is and has been a steady $1.83 a gallon....cruise into a big town about 10 miles away it's $1.68.....fill up next day....$1.73 in that town..while my town was still $1.83

Cynthetiq 04-12-2004 09:34 AM

wraithhibn 04-13-2004 08:44 AM

1.63 for 87. Louisville, Ky

absorbentishe 04-13-2004 10:10 AM

I just found out gas went up to $1.84 here in T-town, and I need to fill up. Shit, I hate it when I guess wrong on when it's going to go up.

irseg 04-13-2004 11:52 PM

The most fuel-efficient car I've ever owned got 19 mpg in town, so I've gotten used to just not looking at the pump when I fill up. It's easier that way. :)

I remember back in '99, some friends and I went to Ocean City MD for Senior week. We were all outraged at how they jacked up the price to $1.14/gallon to soak all the tourists. Those were the days...

telekinetic 04-14-2004 02:39 AM

Grape vine says that gas prices are supposed to jump up to $2.50-$3.00 for 87 oct sometime soon here because of some fire in mexico...

...man, that would suck a lot more if i didn't already have a blown engine, hah.

Zooksport2 04-15-2004 03:35 AM

We have quite high taxes on gas here in Norway. Unleaded 95 octane is about $5 /gallon.

hiltiman 04-17-2004 05:07 AM

This is why I bought a diesel

Now it seems diesel prices are higher than regular fuel. Just paid $2.43/gallon!!

My uncle lived in Belguim, but got US prices from the embassy (or greatly reduced anyway) and drove around a extracab Ford ranger. We drove to Paris in it and got sooo many looks, when we finally parked it (hard as hell BTW) a whole bunch of people swarmed around it and started asking questions. One of the guys, who was pretty old, had apperantly never seen a truck in person before. Kinda cool.

Downtown Los Angeles - no gas stations, more people walking and taking metro, but still takes 10 mintues to go one mile. There is this one Gas station (forgot the name) on corner of Riverside and Glendale. Low was in the 1.80's when I last went by past week.

2.24 seems to be about the average price for regular unleaded

Chingal0 04-26-2004 06:44 PM

asudevil83 05-15-2004 11:46 AM

you know its getting bad when someone starts a thread about how expensive gas is getting.

over the past week or so, gas has gone up at least $.30, which is crazy. it went up $.12 one night, then $.08 the next and now its just slowly creeping up.

my dad's got theory about why its going up higher and higher. the thinks that once the presidential elections start getting closer, Bush will put a price freeze on gas in order to gain a few extra votes, and put it under $2.00 a gallon. so right now, we are seeing gas companies do a sort of preemptive inflation on the prices.

Atomic Pinkie 05-16-2004 09:17 AM

vector_1979 05-16-2004 01:43 PM

London, UK

Unleaded £0.80 per LITRE

3.5l = 1 US Gal
£1 = US$1.80

and thus 0.80 x 3.5 = £2.80 per US Gal
2.80 x $1.80 = US$5.04

soccerchamp76 05-16-2004 06:21 PM

Posted before when it was $1.70 for regular
Now, it is $1.99/gal for regular

St. Louis, $1.99 as of May 16th, 2004

Thanks a lot GWB!

Before I was able to drive, I remember seeing gas as low as $0.79/gal. Soon as I can drive, price doubles and now it is even higher. Jeebers, glad I do not live in Cali though

merkerguitars 05-16-2004 09:22 PM

Yeah the prices are still nutz and keep on going up...gotta love how OPEC works....but at least gas isn't as high as the rest of the world so i'm not going to complain to much.

Hey, it's 1.00724 USD per litre here in Japan (Nagano). I believe it's 4 litres to the gallon so let's say an even 4 bucks a gallon for regular. Luckily I only drive a few thousand miles a year. Shit.

Stompy 05-21-2004 11:11 PM

2.17 here in Michigan.

I don't know why people let this shit happen.

Why is this going on? Why isn't anyone doing anything about it?

bltzkriegmcanon 05-22-2004 09:03 AM

1.89 here in Belmont, NC.

Truly incredible. Oh yeah.

1.76 in York, SC (10 minutes of where I live in Belmont). Gotta love taxes on gas.
