I was waiting to cross 36th St at 8th Ave in New York earlier in the year and see this white car approaching,..very sleek, very sexy. It stops momentarily then proceeds almost without a sound. Never have I heard a car so almost silent. It was the only time I have ever seen a Masserati face to face. Very cool car.

I just saw this Lamborghini Gallardo this afternoon. It's the yellow color with the micro-metalflake kinda look...a great color I really like. My kid's marginal cell phone camera doesn't capture the color, or half the car

this thread needs to be revived!
yesterday i got to see 2 awesome cars! (more really) at a maserati dealership they had some ferraris and a lambo gallardo, but they also had the new Alfa Romeo 8c competizone. i wish i had my camera, but unfortunately not. there are only 500 that will be made, and only 87 in the US. (it's prettier in person than photos) THEN that evening i ran across a Nissan GT-R. this time i DID have my camera.

today in an immediate western 'burb of Phila I saw a very nice black Gallardo Spyder, black wheels w/orange lip....just like this pic though I'm not sure the wheels were the same as this but they were black. I see a few Gallardos around but this is the first Spyder I saw on the street
Then later in the day I made an unplanned stop into the local Audi dealer since I saw a red R8 on the showroom floor as I was driving by; chatted a bit with a couple of the sales guys...I was driving my Supra so they said they liked it a lot; they have two of the new, rare R8 V10's available....man, do I like that car. If I spend too much of my 401k I could get it. |

A friend in the car club bought a bare Bentley chassis in England a few years ago. It was in a garden, holding planters. He designed a body, his wife designed interior seats etc & they had a British metal man fab this creation, from scratch . A one of a kind Bentley. Not too shabby, huh?

Once upon a time, across the eight ocean, on a continent barely known to man...hey bobby..or woman...and above the highest mountains ever scaled by humans, I posted a few pics of a barn find that your inspiring story brings back to mind. WTF!!!...I didn't even know we had many barns around here |

I saw the new 2010 Camaro SS today at a dealer. Looks better in person than in pictures. The interior center armrest/handbrake/cupholder area looks like the same layout as my '95 Z28's. All those gauges at the bottom of the center stack are unnecessary clutter though, they should just put a storage bin there or make room for a navigation system.

Our local Chevy dealer has a brand new bright yellow Camaro SS on the lot, and I've seen this one driving around the neighborhood a bit...very nice. I'm also sort of admiring the new Challengers though I haven't gotten a real close look or sat in one yet. I'd skip the navigation though since I never get lost ...and I'd want gauges so I could see oil pressure, oil temp, wideband O2 and know that my LS8 motor (new Z28?) in there was acting healthy.
On the next block from the Chevy dealer is an Audi dealer and as I was driving by in my Supra I noticed a red R8 on the showroom floor so I stopped in to see if I could get an up close look and sit in it. They're sort of a quirky, strange looking car but they've grown on me like a friendly mold and now I could see owning one if only it had more power since the base V8 version is too damn slow. Turns out this dealer has 2 of the very rare V10 versions ...and one of them is immediately available since the original buyer dropped out and I could have it for a mear $167,000 (at least that's the sticker price but I suspect they'd negotiate some) ...but this version of the R8 is very rare with highly limited production plans; the V10 is from the same engine development as the V10 in the Lambo Gallardo, so there is already an aftermarket twin turbo mod for this engine ...or for less $ you can throw a supercharger on the piddly V8 and give it balls. Some file pics of the V10 version since I didn't have my camera Last edited by BadNick; 08-28-2009 at 07:40 AM.. |

There is an older guy who toodles around the downtown area here in an R8, must be in his 70s. I can only surmise he must have money to burn becuase the roads here are horrible and he's hitting the same bumps and holes I am so I know his dentures must be loosening and his vision blurred. The streets are also in a giant grid pattern, so you know he's not tearing around any fun canyon roads, just stoplight to stoplight in a straight line. I can't understand why anyone would spend so much for such a nice car and expose it to the absolute garbage roads around here. But it definitely has 'presence' and is surprisingly loud too, Ferrari-loud. And strange looking I agree.

I forgot about this thread.
I didn't have time to snap a shot of it, but on Monday I saw the DeLorean DMC-12, and it was even modeled after the time-machine version from the Back to the Future series. It is said that six were used in the filming, so I guess it's entirely possible that this was one of them. It kinda pleasantly freaked me out at first. It drove right by me in a busy intersection near my place. But it then dawned on me that it was probably cruising around town in promotion and celebration of the Toronto International Film Festival. I could be wrong, of course. Stranger things rear their heads in this city for no good reason.

is this cheating? ...it is pretty rare
I just got my car back from a local young guy who detailed it and it looks so good I can hardly believe it! The car is 14 years old and well over 100,000 miles on it, and over the 10 years I've owned it I drive it a LOT, and plenty of track day wear and tear...now it's nice again This is my sighting in front of my detailer's garage: |

Nice and shiny Supra...looks awesome. I would keep that detailers number on speed dial . Any modifications to it, besides the wheels? Its too bad Toyota stopped building high-peformance coupes because they certainly know how to build good ones.
I got to sit in an Aston Vantage today, never had before. Leather everywhere, yet understated...warm, even. Last edited by powerclown; 09-20-2009 at 01:18 PM.. |

I've always loved Aston Martins...I could see moving into one of those one of these days.
My Supra has some "mild, sensible" mods...single turbo, a 60-1 which is on the small side in the Supra world but I need very responsive for roadcourse track days, plus fuel system capable of supporting ~800whp (twin Supra pumps w/850cc injectors) even though mine only cranks just over 600whp on racegas, just under 500whp on 93 oct pump, a few other odds and ends. My favorite mod is my recently aquired KW coilovers...I just smile every time I drive the car they feel so good. |

Nice setup. That is a lot of horsepower you be makin. And one can never underestimate the joys of a good handling car tis true. I'm still amazed your car has over 100,000 miles on it and looks that good. I'm sensing a goodly amount of car-love there.
As for the Astons, taking pictures of one is about the closest I'll ever get to owning one. Last edited by powerclown; 09-21-2009 at 06:36 PM.. |

Talk about pictures, these are from the local car show this past weekend, the 8th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Car Show.
I'm tempted to say that this rare tow truck was my favorite vehicle at the show ...otherwise, there were also a few other relatively rare, nice cars there. Here's a sampling: |

dlish,
That's a the last generation Mazda RX7 aka FD with a Veilside bodykit on it. I generally hate Veilside body kits, but I think the one they made for the FD looks great. If you search "veilside fortune rx7" you'll see more examples of that bodykit. Did you see that one in the UAE? I'm asking because this photo originates from there, see lower right corner ---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:33 PM ---------- btw, the other night my son took this photo with his cell phone hanging out of the open sunroof of my car since he saw this Audi R8 parked near home Last edited by BadNick; 10-27-2009 at 12:37 PM.. |

I saw a Mercedes W 113 converted to an electric engine the other day. I didn't have my camera, but he sat with the engine bay open so that people could see what he had under the hood.
It looked like this...
