i like this thread. i wish i had had a camera when i worked at the bar. down in the carpark there were always amazing vehicles. from memory the regulars were a few Rolls Royces, one GT2 (i think) Porsche and a Lambo. sexy cars. oh! just remembered, the weirdest car experience i had there was when i stood too close to a new Maserati (i was peering in the window) and this voice told me to back away from the car... it was part of the fucking alarm system... scared the shit out of me. edit - those Unimogs seem very like an army style of vehicle we have here, called OKAs.

2004 Acura RSX Type R, Is the car I want but its only in japan. When I was in high school I saw a kids dad picking him up in a DeLorean it was pretty cool.
I have seen lamberginies while driving on the freeways. OH yea lol I saw a streatch VW bug it looked funny, and I saw a very very old pacer, It was so old that it is not very safe to drive the back seat of the car was just like a 2 seater with out a back on it and it is right up against the glass window, the back of the car it looked very dangerious.

I used to live down the road from the TVR factory in Blackpool (England). There was a road about 1 minutes walk from our house where they would open the cars up for a few minutes - the sound was awesome.
Kinda wish I lived back there now - Speed 12, Cereberas, etc. etc. TVR is the ONLY totally british car company left, and they still compete in performance and looks with the worlds best. Jeeze, childhood memories of walking to school and passing their workshops ... kinda like kids living near Maranello (but on a slightly smaller scale!). DeLoreans - 9,000+ made. Most people automatically think of the shiny bodied V8/Back to the Future models. I think most were V6 plastic bodied models, kinda crappy in comparison. Seem them on E-bay for a few thousand. |

There is a yellow Ferrari F355 targa and a white Lamborghini Countach with red interior in my town. We also have a few Vipers, one which was always in the driveway of a duplex and never garaged. It sat there for years until the guy either moved or sold it. It was definitely driven, though, and looked it.
Other than that, there is a red Ferrari 512TR, a DeLorean and a Lotus Elise (which is also always parked outside in some guy's driveway).

I saw a DeLorean on the highway today. That was cool, as I had never seen one in real life before. And the crux of my day happened on the walk back to my apartment. I was dragging my wheeled suitcase and heard a sort of throaty rumbling in the distance. I dismissed it, thinking it was one of the million wannabe ricers with fart cannons on their stock Civic's, but after a few seconds I could tell it was something else. I stoped walking so I could hear better, and what passes right by me but a brand fucking new, dealer plated, midnight blue Ferrari 360 Modena!! It had an exhaust note like nothing I've ever heard. The driver held it the meat of whatever gear he was in, so it was making a little noise.... Throaty, but not honking like a muscle car... more refined. I took off running like a mad fool, suitcase in tow, to hear it accelerate away from the intersection. Driver takes off and gets after it a little, and kept it in the meat of 2nd gear to give it that sweet sweet exhaust rumble.

Saw a silver Ferrari 360 Modena today. Not that they're THAT rare, but there is a pair of NSX's at a house on my street, one of which is supercharged (their other car is an Element, silly Honda fanboys)
I'd say the rarest car I've seen is a GT2 that the owner of our Autocross race track drove to a race a few months ago. He drove that there (had less than 3 grand on the odometer) and then pulled an Evo 8 off a trailer to race. Crazy stuff....then again, he does privately own a race track. That he had built for him to play with his cars on.

Saw a '57 'Vette the other day. There's a DeLorean in the area. I know of a couple of Viper's, one being a GT-S. There are two Saleen Mustangs, and one Lingenfelter Corvette. I've seen those, and rumour has it there is a Callaway 'Vette around here somewhere. BTW, the town I live in...12,000 people.

This is a funny story. My wife went out for lunch one day when she said she saw a really neat sports car. I asked her what kind (Vette, Viper, Porsche maybe even a Ferrari or Lambo) She said that it wasn't any of those that it began with an Mc. I asked do you mean an MG or some little roadster like her dads car (Austin Healey 3000) No it was new and looked very fast. I racked my brain (this goes back about 5 years). I asked her if maybe it was McLaren? She said that was it. I told her she had probably seen one of maybe 20 of these in the entire United States. She just shrugged and said it was nice. Yeah their OK.... women!

In Nasvhille, TN:
2 - 360 Modena's - One silver, one red Last year the Vette Anniversary was here and there was a parade with one from every model year. My favorite: 1973. See a few NSX's around H2's are all over. I see people that drive them that probably spent more for the H2 and the gas than their house. Weird. Porche Cayenne is not seen much around here, but saw one the other day. Don't see much of the 7 series BMW's either, but caught a glimpse of one the other day. On a smaller scale, a first for me was the new Scion xB. Some guy had it a killer system in it. Favorite car is that McLauren F1 above. Absolutely breathtaking. |

The McLaren F1 is my all-time favourite too.
Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean, Blackadder, etc.) has (had?) one years back. He was driving somewhere north of my sisters place, and drove into the back of an Austin Maestro (old pile of rust). It got taken into a garage near my sisters place. It was in the local press - half a million quids worth of car drives into the back of something worth less than a pack of cigarettes. A friend worked at a car tuning place many years back - they were running around a circuit here in the UK testing some suspension mods to the bosses Bentley ... and McLaren were doing some of the early production testing for the F1. It blew their minds at the time, and its still probably the all-time greatest road/race car. Nothing beats it. Period. |

I was driving past the local Ferrari dealer in Rosemont PA a couple weeks ago and thought I saw something that I was not expecting to see for a long time if at all. So I went around the block, pulled into their front lot, parked and got out to look closer and lo and behold, there it was, a new Porsche Carerra GT, silver, gorgeous. This is one of my favorite cars of all time. I walked around it about ten times just oogling all the stuff I could see, the top was open/off. Nobody even came out to see what I was doing so I just said wow a lot and left. One of those times I wish I had a camera. My 9yo son was with me and asked if he can get me one for Father's Day ...so I got my fingers crossed
