yes it can be done i do belive, my dad has a 63 chevy short bed "with rap around windows" when he got it it was a long bed but he does not like long beds so he switched out the bed to a short bed its tricky though but oh my gosh his truck is so awesome.

i agree with qtpye4u84, it can be done. I have been a part of chopping a chevy long bed myself, but be sure whoever does the work knows exactly what they are doing. If not it could be a mess! We laser cut the chassis in a friends body shop to make sure all cuts were exact. Take your time!!!

I had a buddy that wanted to do that so all he did was get a short frame from the scrap yard....kept the cab but got a short box.....lots of work but hell the new frame was stronger and now he has 63 inch tires on that thing on 15 inch rims!
