My 92 Passat GL
I have a 92 Passat GL, It has treated me good for the 2 years I've owned it, just some minor problems and a couple maintainence issues, not much considering the car is pushin 204k miles now. Car runs extremely well, just had the exhaust redone, put on some 17" chrome niche's with low profile tires redid some of the emblems in a silver paint, versus the normal dull grey they used for that year on the VW emblems and the same silver for the Passat_GL emblem they just painted over as the stock color of the car. It's an emerald green color, I love this car to death and it's treated me good, but I want to do some more modifications to it that won't cost me a lot of money, won't make it way RICY and will make it stand out more, what I am looking on doing is tinting the windows, possibly getting a bodykit for it that is actually made for it, forget where I found it but $500 for the complete front rear and side skirts, the spoiler on it already is fine, I hate those big honkin wings that everyone sticks on and ruins the lines of the cars. I already have hyper white lights up front maybe thinking of clear corner markers where the GL emblems in the front fenders are, I got a new shifter all the way from the transmission to the knob, pedal covers, besides some extremes like reupholstry and a paintjob what would you all reccomend me do to this, and please don't reply if your response is "Leave it alone" or "Get a new car" Also I am looking for performance mods as well as body mods, so right now I'm kinda open to suggestions, I also was thinking of etching some designs on the windows, but I'm not sure what. Alrite, post up.

A $500 body kit will probably bring up your coefficient of drag to the point that you can feel the difference. If you want to eventually put a turbo on it, the new exhaust is good, and you should consider a cold-air intake.
Don't tint the windows yourself, spend the extra cash so it won't bubble the first time you park it in the sun. You might want to throw in some preformance internals when you rebuild the engine (at 204k, it's going to need it sooner or later) |

You mean produce more drag, because right now it has a bodykit on it from the factory, that includes front and rear valances and side skirts, the front one is starting to come off and the rear isn't all that attractive, and the sides show some wear, anyways the site with the kit on it is http://www.abstyling.co.uk/bodykits/volkswagen_passat(1).htm a little more than $500, but still not bad for a complete kit. Anyone know if there are any tail light mods for this year and model? I know jetta ones won't work, Clear taillights are so cheezy now but some of the carbon fiber ones look nice, I think they are 3rd gen altezza's. correct me if I'm wrong, but I would like to find out if they have them for this car, or even something different than stock, or does someone know how to modify these? BTW: since this is my daily drive everything needs to be street legal. And ya, gonna have to rebuild the engine sooner or later as you said, but right now have to redo my clutch, it just went out on me with very little warning, ah well factory clutch going out after 204k miles isn't too shabby. And kinda keep things kinda cheap (reccomend good quality and good priced places) Because I'm still a college student and cash isn't exactly there in abundance.
