Mildew/mold in car...help!!

I just had my car's carpets steamcleaned and in the last few days I have noticed a very musty mildew or mold odor. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the mositure and smell out without re-steam cleaning again??? Thanks in advance.

On alot of older cars I have bought the easiest way it to let it air out..Then I usually leave a can of strawberry carnuba wax open in the car...makes it smell really nice :)

Leave windows open. Is it cold where you leave, becuase that also affects the drying of your carpets. Make sure it is warm and dry.

Worst case scenario is an Ozone Treatment. Your local body shop should be able to help you find an OT capable shop if you cannot get the smell out via airing it out and chemical maskers.

Just be aware that the moisture is likely trapped beneath the carpet as well, in the insulation, etc. It may in the long run not be a bad idea to have the carpet and padding replaced, as you risk starting some nasty rust under there.

the mildew was caused due to lack of ventilation.
