well im not expert.... but both are mostly water.... and some washer fluids even have stuff in em so they dont freeze....so it *probably* wont hurt anything....
but its not made to be in there... so i would definently drain it out and put in antifreeze...

I can't see it being a problem. As mentioned above, the wiper fluid is water and alcohol ( with some color thrown in ).

Im all for women under the hood of vehicles doing their own maintenance, but ONLY if they can read. the washer fluid bottle says clearly on the cap: "Washer Fluid ONLY" the radiator overflow/reserve bottle says clearly on the cap "Antifreeze/Coolant ONLY" if she cant or wont read, then she does NOT belong under the hood of any vehicle.

haha yea i wish my gf could read some of these comments cuz they are EXACTLY what i was thinking when she called me...
the reason she was under the hood was because it is her car, and i was at work. but so far nothing has happened to her car, so uh...i guess that is good news? Not sure how much was added cuz i kinda forgot about it, but i dont think it was that much. Her car is a few months old so im assuming that new cars come with plenty o antifreeze... |

she CAN read this (assuming, of course, that she can read, which has yet to be established). just email her the link to this thread.

there is no reason to take the chance, drain the block and radiator at least, along with the resevoir, and refill them with a mixed antifreeze.......especially come summer, you don't want anything that isn't coolant in your motor coolant passages.....
Oh by the way, if you don't know exactly how, just buy the Haynes manual, its a good thing to have anyway, and it will give you the step by step where the drains are located and everything.........Good Luck
