Audio Question
Just bought a new civic. Came with a cd player, I was planning on taking the deck out of my old car (clarion) and putting it in the new.
Any ideas as to what the audio quality comparison would look like? Im thinking the clarion is going to be better, seems like better quality. But a "friend" seems to think it wont be worth it. It was a christmas present for my car that died, so thats effecting my decision somewhat. |

I depends...if you get an aftermarket deck most likely you want all new speaker too...and it depends on the quality you of parts you put in....if it is a factory cd player you can get $150+ for a factory cd player on ebay.

Its a brand new car, and yes a factory deck. I think the clarion sounded better then this system in my old car, in which im usre the speakers were worse then the new Civic.
I plan on speakers as well, but not till I have a few bucks... Just bought a car after all Probably Boss, my buddy can get a pretty sweet deal on em. |

The factory decks in hondas are usually made by Pioneer, and they're usually very good. The weak point is generally the speakers. If you had a Clarion in your old car and it sounded better, I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually due to the speakers. Only trouble is, they probably won't fit in your Civic.

usually after market head units are going to be more versatile as far as customizing the sound, plus they accept amps and such easier without adapters. They are also more power as far as watts are concerned. So if you do plan on further upgrading of your system an aftermarket head unit is always a good place to start.
