shame you spent all that extra $$$ on nadia if you are just going to be this car. it would have been such a great downpayment.

The TL is a dope car indeed. 3 good friends of mine own one. The things that kept me away from it was....
1)Built in the US, yes even the engine is built here. 2)Rattles.........i hope Acura will soon acknowledge this and have a recall soon. 3)Side marker lights are always on. I was hoping they would blink when you turn on your signals. 4)Too big for me. Thats why I own a TSX soon to be Blown TSX. Other than that, the car is awesome and worth every penny. I've come across many dealerships that are offering the 6sp/navi for 2g's off MSRP. What more can you ask for in a car tho.....270hp, 6spd, dvd audio, touch screen huge navi, 3d climate control, brembo brakes.....any more coo shit. Halx I hope you get the A-spec underbody spoiler........it's hot! Here are some pics of a members car at acuraworld.com. BTW i'm a mod there for the tsx forum. Come join us. |

Very nice. Personally, though, I'd have gone with the Infiniti G35 if I was going for Asian import.

Booty Man
1) It's still a honda at heart, ya know? 2) That issue is linked to the tires that come stock with the car, and I intend to use that little fact, along with a few other defects that people have mentioned on other boards to pay no more than 32K for it. 3) It dont bother me! 4) Size matters! About the A-spec stuff.. I am gonna stay away from customizing this car. If, maybe in 9 months, they still offer that stuff, then maybe I'll try somethin' One main thing that's attracting me to it.. is that I don't see it all over the place! Man, I can't make a trip to the store without catching a G35 on the road. I probably see one TL a week around where I live. I guess it could help that the nearest dealer is 40 min away.

The car is really nice, but I agree with sixate that I'm not ready for a "grown-up car" like that. I'll take a 350Z for less and have money to take a vacation.

270 hp is too much for front wheel drive, otherwise that looks like a sweet car.

No Offense to anybody, but that Chrysler 300 actually gave me a headache, the dash looks like a toy car. It just does not fit that car...The controls anfd guages look like they were ripped out of a New Beetle, and the steering wheel looks loke those cheap glasses my grandma used to wear....
btw Halx, good idea for the TL, those are sharp....

Having owned and driven an Acura CL Type S for the past two years, I can tell you that you will really like this car. The driving position is very comfortable, it has pretty good power and handles pretty well too. Also, it has decent fuel economy although using premium exclusively can be expensive. Good luck with the car, it's a fine choice.

a badass car to say the very least, although I am still partial to the Maxima........they are both luxurious and quick for a v6 front driver

Very nice; impressive road presence and very solid-looking.
I don't really like all this Acura/Lexus/Infiniti business, however. Why don't they just call them what they are (Honda/Toyota/Nissan) instead of trying to hoodwink us with their marketing BS? Great choice, anyway. |

aside from the fact that it's got the best engine and best interior in it's class, i really gotta say.. you must not pay much attention to the market if you think that.

Definitely a good choice. Acura is a great car company. I have a 2001 CL - S and never have regreted it. I love the new TL, hoping something comes in 2 doors similar to it. I prefer a coupe but TL is a sweet sedan. Good luck with your new toy.

congrats to you!
I've moved from buying a MINI to buying some income property... appreciating assets first... then the depreciating ones. delayed gratification... I'll get the MINI maybe next year.

Sweet ride Hal, I agree to stay away from the 300 it has so many different designs that they tried to steal from other cars it doesn't know what it wants to be, but I agree with shakran the best description I've heard yet is the K car with a thyroid problem.

This will personally be my 3rd 'accord' Now the difference between the TL and the Accord is ... well... LOOK at it! 3.2L V6, 24 valve, 270@6200hp Dont make me go into all the neat gadgets in this thing.

I have one myself and its a sweet car. It isn't even comparable to an Accord, drive both and you will see. Mine is silver on black interior with 5AT. My only complaint about the car is the lack of a 60/40 split rear seat. There is no torque steer and it handles great.

Halx, I just drove a TL with the 6 speed a couple of days ago, and holy SHIT I was impressed. That thing's got some serious get-up-and-go for a car that size. The handling was excellent. The fit and finish should make BMW think about getting into a different business. The nav system was hands down the best factory nav I've ever seen.
I didn't notice that bit about the sun-position-sensing climate control. From what I saw, you just set the temp you want on each side and it does its thing without you doing anything else. Must have been something I missed and that the dealership lady didn't explain to me - that wouldn't surprise me since she informed me that the TL's front strut tower brace was to keep it from diving when you hit the brakes. Good leather that you don't slip around on, very comfortable car, and a good performer to boot. That is one 4 door I would not at all mind having. |
