Wait... is that a RG500 ? Where do you live? If in the US, you lucky bastard, considering 0 were officially imported! Cool ride!
Out of all vintage sportbikes, you may have purchased the coolest.

I burn with envy. Enjoy the glorious masterpiece of your square four two-stroking

PS: To those who have no idea why I'm so envious of his "15 year old bike "... the RG500 is the closest thing to a MotoGP bike ever released for the street, in terms of powerplant. 500cc of technological two-stroke wonder. Had an odd square 4 engine layout... two sets of two cylinders with 2 crankshafts. Suspension was far ahead of the day.

Granted , it is not as fast as a new GSXRs as they have pushed the edge of performance past sane, but it is the pinnacle of two-stroke streetbikes built. I'd say a mildly modified RG500 is comparable in speed to an oil cooled GSXR750 (<96') or a pre 2000 GSXR600.

I am also very impressed. That bike is amazingly clean looking, not to mention rare, as Boo said. Very, very cool.

Boo i am really impressed that you know so much about this bike. most people in the usa have no idea what it is. do you own a bike? if yes what do you have?

I own a 1974 Suzuki TS400 dual-sport ( basically, all I could afford while paying for my own school ) that I'm currently trying to make a "vintage supermoto" out of. It has the same wheel sizes as an XR600L, so I can get decent tires for it. The engine is pretty good, and can make 40hp (more than a KLR650) with an ignition and cylinder head swap.

I like modern bikes too, but don't plan on buying one for a couple of years. I'll get my fill of vintage bikes while in college.
