if the altima has taken the place of the maxima in competing against the accords and camrys of the world for 2004, then what is nissan positioning its new $35000 maxima against? lexus ES, BMW 5, Benz S...for the price to value proposition, it rocks all of those choices...so what then, is the closest competitor to the maxima in its price range? what is nissan up to?

Nissan is creating a new class, the sucker class.

Lets badge the old stanza with altima, raise the price so people think it is as good as an accord or camry, then jack the price of the maxima up to real luxury sedans price range, and get fools to pay for it.

Anyways.. what are the specs on the 35k Maxima? I don't think that car is anywhere near luxury.

265 horse producing mega mid range torque.
leather/bose 6 disc changer in dash/nav/driver & passenger climate control/mad safety equipped/traction control/18" lowp tires/6 speed manual or 5 speed auto with tiptronic/rear passenger climate control/wierd new sunroof option/ optional in dash dvd player on nav display/central information console also embedded in nav display/ and a ton of other shit...did i mention its fast as hell and much bigger than last year's maxima. worth $35k...not so sure.

well I just bought one for tissue $27,000.....so what is $35,000? a sucker retail price?
