C6 Corvette final pictures?

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=692895

Saw this on another forum. I really love that color. It is very nice. I like the chiseled look of that front vent. I also like how they are starting to slowly shrink its overgrown ass. It was just out of control in the c5. I also really like the short(er) overhang in the front. What you CAN see of the headlights and from the spyshots, i think it looks very nice. Personally, i would have liked to have seen a more revolutionary change in the body style, as this one looks more like a very nice mod on teh c5 than it does look like a new body style. No real complaint about it, but i would have liked to see some bigger cosmetic changes.

Site seems to load kinda slow....give it time, it will finish.

Wow - its perfect. I didn't like the C4 or C5 styling at all, but this is great. My new favorite vette.

laconic1 11-17-2003 02:31 PM

I like how chiseled it looks, and I like the more angular wheels on it. That color is nice too. The C5 is a sweet automobile, it will be tough for the C6 to top it.

hahaha 11-17-2003 03:26 PM

I liked C5 vettes, and still do, but WOW. The side vent things on the C6 look pretty cool. I'm glad they didn't change it too much, its still gotta look like a corvette.

ducati999 11-17-2003 04:23 PM

nice...that thing looks mean

ledhead 11-17-2003 06:42 PM

i not really a fan of the new angular cars, particullarly the caddies, infact i hate it. but this, . . . . . i mean . . . . . wow! if that is how the production version is going to look.

a couple of things i noticed:
-the rear kind of looks like the later c4's
-the rear definitely is toned down
-also the door handles are at the end of the door, dont think i like it, it does not flow with the design
-the wheels, simple and traditional 5 spokes, yet look classy
-also it looks like they have done away with the flip up lights
-one last thing, the rear is either lowered or something, the wheel looks to be further inside the wheel well. cant tell if its a larger wheel, or if it is sagging.

yepp, they most definately have... flip up lights have motors and what not and its just weight that you dont need, so they nixed it...

its not quite as exciting, but this is a performance car, so we need to trim fat wherever we can :D

does it look a little viper'ish on the front end to anyone else?

all in all, I like it, but I am still a little disappointed they didnt at least MATCH the vipers fucking unprecedented displacement...

Esoteric 11-17-2003 07:30 PM

That looks damn nice, wonder what the front end looks like.

Peryn 11-17-2003 07:50 PM

They got rid of the flip up lights... but i like the new design of them. The c1s didn't have flip ups....so they are going back to their roots while saving weight. Well....no their not, but i think it looks better. The integrated lights make the car looks much better than the older ones did at night with the lights up.

As for matching the vipers displacement...while it wont be as large an engine, the power wont be far behind. The current ZO6 is already on par, if not better than, the viper in teh handling department. At a far better price. And Chevy is swearing up and down that the power and performance of this new 'vette will be close to what the Z06 is now...with a higher end model to blow away what they currently have. If they can hold up to their promises, and keep the current pricing they have now...with these looks it will be THE undisputed best high performance car for the money out there...even with the new mustang.

JusticeForPhat 11-17-2003 08:03 PM

definetly loving lack of flip of headlights. It really smoothes out the front end alot, and makes for some interesting flow lines. As far as the performance, I hope they keep puching the limits with this.

Yeah, they are rex'd...hopefully someone saved those pics, and will host them for us? :)?

The bottom 3 pictures are of hte c6 final. They have a timeline of spyshots of the car...in some of them you can get a glimpse of the intererior. It doesn't look great....but i've seen better. The c6 shots have been resized, but they still get the point across.

EleqTrizi'T 11-18-2003 03:56 PM

I don't know if these are the same pics, but I found these myself...

tfin 11-19-2003 02:05 AM

I like those pics that eleq posted. It looks more itialian.

Peryn 11-19-2003 10:13 AM

Yeah those are the full size pics from that thread. I think it is beautiful.

bigoldalphamale 11-19-2003 12:57 PM

that thing is sick...bet its gonna MSRP over $70k. damn it!!!!!!

Feyenoord 11-21-2003 11:12 AM

Sweet car

pezking4 11-30-2003 09:23 PM

Does the C6 remind you guys of the C3 at all? I kinda see some stingray heritage shining through in those side shots.

mighty mouse 11-30-2003 11:28 PM

I feel the stingray in there. Look at the front fenders above the tires. I would certainly buy one if I could afford it. Hopefully that girlfriend of mine will be a lawyer yet.......

goobster 12-01-2003 07:21 AM

Nice Pictures....

Scorps 12-01-2003 08:11 AM

Love the new style rims

Elitegibson 12-01-2003 09:49 AM

Yeah, that made me more than a little horny. Hurry up C6s so the C5s get cheaper!

Booty Man 12-01-2003 11:52 AM

looks hot...........can't wait for better pics.

Mill 12-01-2003 12:31 PM

Looks more balanced than the C5 does. Can't wait to see what technology comes with the styling. I hope the front and the headlights will look like the Callaway C12 coupe.

Tech 12-01-2003 02:30 PM

saw the C6 pics in motor trend, and i really didn't like the front end :( but they were also just computer rendering ("photographs" my ass...) so maybe it'll look a little different.

DEI37 12-01-2003 04:03 PM

I'm liking this. Talk about pricing...that one link said mid $40k's. That works well. And, it looks like it's gonna get a 5-speed automatic to replace the current cars' 4-speed slushbox. I see drilled rotors on the car in the pics above, front & rear...wonder which level that is. And the motor doesn't increase in displacement, either. It retains the current 347 CID of today. I think the ZO6 for 2006 will be a 6.0 Liter...I can't recall that info right now.

Kurant 12-01-2003 04:15 PM

Actully, the motor is not the 5.7L. (Which BTW is 350 ci.)

It's a 6.0L V8 LS2 SFI motor. They guess 405hp, the Z06 around 505-525.

basmoq 12-01-2003 07:15 PM

I'd buy it if I weren't a diehard SPS fan. Maybe it'd make a good weekend car though...

Shit...caught me on that one. I was thinking the displacement stayed the same. You're right. It does get punched out to 6.0 Liters...or 365 CID, approximately. And, I was wrong on another point...it's a six speed auto, not five. Although...just a quick sidenote...today's LS1/6 V8's are 5.7 Liters, but it's 347 CID...the 350 V8 of yore is long gone.

RemyLebeau97 12-02-2003 12:18 AM

For some reason the Corvette will always be in the top 5 on my all time favorite car list.

MrGone 12-02-2003 12:24 PM

I'm soo glad it came out this way and not going towards the bloated concept styles alot of manufactures are using.
