hmmm... looks like a retro vette... I like everything but the bubble top

Deuce66 11-15-2003 04:46 PM

you know, as much as I hate all vettes made after the stingray (drool, stingray....), I have to say...thats one attractive looking car. minus the bubble top =/

Too bad its got a crappy chevy engine and slushbox. =/

yellowgowild 11-15-2003 08:17 PM

That's an uninspired design if I ever saw one. It might look good if you changed the whole body, the wheels and covered your eyes.

Futuristic Corvette.......C7.....C8?

(edit, not implying this will be the C7 or C8, just since it looks like a furutistic Corvette, you know what I have no idea where i was going with this, disregard this comment.)

lol@ sadistikdreams
Personally, its not bad for a concept car. I would change the roof and maybe the wheels, but other than that it is very sleak and stylish.

Stare At The Sun 11-16-2003 01:40 AM

I too like everything but the top, wheels are interesting too..

ARTelevision 11-16-2003 04:26 AM

...half-hour with a picture of a corvette and photoshop.

sadistikdreams 11-16-2003 11:29 AM

It's got nice rims, though... I'll give it that...
But the rest... is too cartoonish.

potato 11-16-2003 01:07 PM

Looks unique.

Sion 11-16-2003 04:03 PM

I like it. I dont care for those wheels though. And I can decide if I like that bubble top, I mean it would be great in terms of visibility, but it looks funky. If they could integrate the top into the profile a bit better, Id like it more.

bundy 11-16-2003 04:37 PM

i´m not sold on this.
i just can´t get into that bubble thing thats happening there.

sadistik... thats exactly what i was thinking...

Peryn 11-16-2003 05:07 PM

dont like the bubble top... and not quite sure on the front end yet....but i like what they are doing with the rear end. finally starting to shrink the overgrown ass teh c5 has. If this is a prelimenary drawing....a few sketches down the road and it could be looking good.

stingc 11-16-2003 05:33 PM

Its not a sketch. I've seen this thing in person, and I think it looks better that way than in these pictures, but still like the toys 'r us special. More normal-looking wheels would probably help the design a lot.

JusticeForPhat 11-16-2003 09:42 PM

integrating the ass end of the bubble better into the rear deck would definetly straighten this thing out. But from what i've seen the bubble is making a comeback. About 2 years ago I saw a concept from volvo i believe that had a boron - steel front pillar that was a kind of zig zag beam. Instead of being covered by steel they glassed it and it really enhances viewing. The same concept also had a giant skylight in the rear area, with the same boron - steel reinforcing structure. I think chevy is using the skylight idea in a new SUV. Seems like an interesting trend.

just awfull

wrongfullyaccuzd 11-17-2003 01:19 AM

too jetsons-y

acpower 11-17-2003 03:08 AM

nice blend.. minus the bubble top

madsenj37 11-17-2003 03:21 AM

Its a monster. Ugly rims, ugly bubble top and the exhaust looks out of place too. I hope they did not get paid for that design.

Looks like a Vette to me...

Spyder_Venom 11-18-2003 07:00 AM

Looks like the old Banshee concpet from 1989. That dates back one generation before the Olds Aurora project (not the sedan but the GT race car).
