Sell or keep?

I current am driving a 2002 VW Jetta GLS (second from lowest end model). While I like this car, I find that it doesn't have enough power for me. I also foolishly bought it in automatic.

I financed this car for 2 years, and I have 5 more payments left on it. I have been debating whether or not I should keep this car until the warranty runs out (4/50 - I've got 25K miles on it right now) or get rid of it right when I'm done paying for it. I've been looking at both the Mazda 6 and BMW 325i. Financially I can afford both the 6 and the BMW, however, would I be making a foolish mistake?

Thoughts...

If you don't have a need for both cars, you should sell the VW. Otherwise it's just sitting there depreciating while you're paying insurance and other expenses on top of that.

drop the dub and get the bmw, you only live once and money is just paper. I'd say get an audi but that is not one of your listed choices.

If you do sell, and if you can afford either car (im assuming you've done research and all and those are the choices you've limited yourself to, not just randomly picked) then go with the BMW. It is definately a stronger build and going to be more reliable. Plus, its not the first year model. The BMW is more of a car, better built, and probably more fun to drive. That would be my suggestion, since money doesn't seem to be an issue for you. Test drive both of them of course.

If you can afford it, and the VW just isn't the car for you, then id get rid of it. If it has a transferable warranty and mileage left when your done paying for it, then that would be a selling point. No sense in keeping i car you dont want just because of the warranty.

keep it at least until your warranty runs out... noones going to care if there is less than a year left on a warranty, as well as the fact that, if your going to buy a BMW, at least buy an M series, or 5 series because otherwise your not standing out of a crowd, you are simply following one in a higher class than a tercel.

personally i like VW's, great cars, nice trannies, but if you ARE stuck on getting something else new, i totally suggest something in AWD, like the new Subaru, you know,,, 300HP stock? awd. there is a 6 month waiting period on those, but you have nothing but time to decide... if you put one on order, you should be able to get one just as your warraty runs out.

Whats the matter with your VW? did you not get any or enough speeding tickets with it? if you want soemthing FAST, believe me, it will cost you nothing but money, first comes the speeding tickets, if not one but 2 or 3, who knows, then comes the insurance check, boom 30% increase right there.

fast is not the way to go.... i bought a pickup truck because i owned a 340HP Prelude before, done to the tits, lowered, super charged, blowoff valve, slip tranny, bored out cylenders to 60 over, 2.4 liter... i mean it... it was fucking fast... i was easily beating stangs and camaro's... i managed to get nothing but 4 speeding tickets, and i got let off of a wrcless driving charge... so i said, FUCK THIS! and i sold it and bought a nice pickup. and i have never been happier with my vehicle. now i go UP instead of DOWN when it comes to suspension and driving higher than everyone and taking it off the road is a WAY bigger rush then EVER when i had a fast car knowing i could BEAT everyone.... Knowing you can run OVER everyone is a much cooler feeling.

but anyways.... AWD no matter what you buy is always a good way to go... i DO like the subaru's and no matter where you go... you get respect. try to avoice the big dumb ass ugly wing that they try to stick on there from the factory....

hope i help ya a lil

sorry, but i am not really a fan of BMW

As a long time BMW fan (have owned 14) go with the Bimmer.

The 3 series is a great car. If you can afford it step up to the 330i as it is worlds different.

I would presonally keep the VW as well. Nothing beats having a "beater" to buzz around in when the weathers bad.
