Some dude made a MB SLR McLaren from scratch... unbelievable!

Old pics, but still a very cool project. The proportions dont look quite right, but considering what he had to begine the project with, its pretty neat. Very impressive fabricating skills, but he should have at least cleaned out the engine bay.

That got has got some mad skills....I wonder how long it took him to build it. He could make some serious dough from those skills ya know.

We have a guy from Poland on a motorcycle board I'm on. His bike is insane, best metal work I've ever seen. What's more sick is that all he did to the bike was clear coat it. You can see that the steel is all hand-formed without a bit of Bondo. There's some crazy talent in Poland apparently.

Actually i'm surprised that Mercedes didnt file a suit or something for copyright infringment or something like that...

alright at first that looked like a real pos but i gotta admit it looked pretty good by the end...but seriously, let me know when he recovers from all the lawsuits...

I dunno....if i Were Mercedes id talk to him....but i dont think it be worth suing him. I think id instead have a nice chit chat and talk about hiring him into the company....with skills like that id much rather have him working for me than against me...

That's absolutely amazing! Here I am, thinking I'm the king ding-a-ling of fabricating, cause the patch panel I welded in didn't crack out, and then I see this! Inspiring to say the least.

According to the site, it's an 88 Benz of some sort (don't remember specifically) and he has about 75,000 Euros invested, if I'm not mistaken.

for 75,000 euros i would have bought a really nice car. but then again it wouldn't be a SLR would it.

that pic with the wiring harness hanging out brings back lots of bad memories for me. But damn is that some talent.

As long as he's not selling the car, and the proportions arent 100% the same nor is the powerplant, what is there to sue him over? Plenty of lamborghini, shelby, ferrari, porsche clones out there too.

thats amazing. was that model originally a mercedes concept car that he decided to make reality or was that just his own idea. i dont know much about mercedes.
