Pretty funny animation of an attempted "test ride" of a Harley.
As an aside is it really necessary for Harley's or the big cruiser's to warm up for a while? Or do the owner's just like to hear them idle? In the last couple of days I've gone back to my bike (Honda sportbike) and there were owner's waiting for their bikes to warm up. I say hi or wave to most anyone on a bike. And did the same to them. But these guys look at me like I'm riding something inferior to their bikes. I just put on my helmet and gloves start up and ride away. No idling, no warm up. And my bike isn't fuel injected. |

Bottom line here, all engines should be allowed to reach operating temperature before you wail on them, sportbikes, harleys, choppers, FI and carb'd, its always a good idea to let the engine oil get nice and warm so it will start reaching all the little cracks and crevices in the engine before you start going... and yeah, I dont get waved back from people on harleys a lot, but they're never anyone I wanna hang out with anyways tho, so fuck em |

Hit the choke, fire it up, let it warm up until you don't need the choke, ride off. Is it as quick as just jumping on and going? Nah, but it is better for your engine. Course FI is too far beyond me tech-wise, as I've never been on a one of them new-fangled bikes =)

I waved at all riders and sometimes I would get waves from the Harley guys but most often not. Who cares, I think a rider is a rider my Dad owns a Harley and he respects the other bikes, shrugs?
