Nice ride, enjoy

bodypainter 04-27-2003 12:50 PM

Wow, nice car. The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is that it's not in my driveway! Well, that and the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.

User Name 04-27-2003 01:18 PM

Beautiful automobile.

Dope car.
Only complaint would be that it has 4 doors.
Since you own a BMW what do you think of the direction they're going with the new cars? I think all the new designs I've seen are fucking brutal. They are destroying some beautiful cars.

mighty mouse 04-27-2003 01:49 PM

Noice. I'm really getting turned on to the BMWs of the late 90's.

deepinjello 04-27-2003 02:09 PM

So purty, you are a lucky man.

0001 04-27-2003 04:38 PM

What are you talking about the steering wheel's on the wrong side??! Do you have any idea how much fun it would be to go through drive through with a RHD car? :D

SweetVroom 04-27-2003 06:52 PM

great car! i always had a soft spot for bimmers!

GuttersnipeXL 04-27-2003 06:59 PM

Sweet ride man,...what are you sorry about? The fact that you drive a pimped vehicle and most of us probably drive beaters?

SweetVroom 04-27-2003 08:37 PM

no, i think he was thinking that people would think he's tryin to brag, but it's perfectly fine!

just to throw in that cars rock! the one on the right is mine, dad's is left.

mikey08 04-27-2003 08:48 PM

never been a fan of alpina tuned bimmers. heir parts are too damn expensive here in the states, but i bet over in europe they are a dream to drive. i think the e36 and the e46 bmws are the sexiest (why i drive a e36) but bmw is destroying some of their good cars. the new 5 series headlights are horrendous.

schteve 04-28-2003 12:06 AM

yer i agree with what most people have said about bmw destroying some purty cars... take a look at the new style 3 series... i think the e46 beats the knickers off this hair-dresser's car.

PS. Vroom, thats one nice looking merc u've got there

Mook 04-28-2003 05:59 AM

Nice ride. The ladies will want you. :D

the420star 04-28-2003 11:06 AM

nice nice car, it has the push button style shifting right? i dont know what it is called by BMW, but i am sure you know what i mean

schteve 04-28-2003 11:22 AM

yep, alpina call it switch-tronic, not too sure what BMW call it... F1 gear change maybe? :S

myMHz 04-28-2003 11:58 PM

That is a great ride. Shame they put the steering wheel on the wrong side. (lol)

j_majik 04-29-2003 05:18 AM

thadon 04-29-2003 05:24 AM

How much horse power does the 3.3 B8 Alpina have? That is a sweet ride & it has shift buttons on the steering wheel ... I want one

Bah, "no m3" hahaha... feel the un-restricted power of my Alpina.

Just look above, does your M3 do 170mph? Didn't think so.

In a quater mile race you may have the advantage, but on the track my Alpina would turn your M3 with it's fancy yet heavy SMG gearbox to the cleaners... torque is what wins races, not HP.

charliex 04-29-2003 10:58 PM

nice car, 5.2 is a tad sluggish how much does that thing weigh? start ripping out those other seats and all that gubbins on the steeering wheel can't be helping ;)

I'm from the isle of man!

Looks like flaming has commenced.

#1 Torque does not win races on the track. The person across the finish line first does. Torque is one factor, but you are talking about more variables than just torque. Torque + Traction + Driver Skill + Reaction times + Weather + Competition + Condition ( you get the point )
#2 It's not really a big deal to own something that does 170, you can buy a $10,000 bike that does 190

Flames doused.

schteve 04-30-2003 02:22 AM

yer i guess you're right booradley, but at the end of the day, im 18 and get to drive a very exclusive car that can pull off some sub 5 second 0-60 times... whoops im bragging again.

charliex, what a coincidence, where abouts in the iom are u from mate?

strife 05-01-2003 03:24 AM

Hey schteve, how do you manage that car? and how much did it cost?

I'm not familair with alpina...is it a tuner like saleen?

schteve 05-01-2003 03:30 AM

yer, it's similar to the likes of Brabus for Mercedes... they take stock models and make them racier/sportier or what have you.

For example my car, it was a stock 328ci 3 series and Alpina have chucked a 3.3 litre straight 6 lump in it producing 300bhp. Also they've tuned up basically everything else you can think of... at a price too.

And how i managed it? Well my grandad died about 5 years ago and left quite a bit of cash for me, and i didn't need it all for university so i went out and treated myself. Insurance is a bitch still, and i'm paying most of it with my webdesign job held at a company down town, my university grant and some of the cash left from my grandad.

Strife, your car is nice, looks pretty damn mean!

strife 05-01-2003 04:30 AM

Cool, very cool. I love the paint color. You have a very slick lookin car. I bet that must be a blast to drive. For 6 months insurance on my car is 2500 bucks. I love the way your car looks, I can't get over it :p .

That's the best comparision yet. AMG is too close and BMW's counterpart would be MPower. Other tuners are just too far away. Brabus is in bed (you see the connection right?) with Mercedes as BMW and Alpina.

Snakeyes 05-01-2003 07:03 PM

Very, very clean. What exactly is Alpina? Sort of like AC-Schnitzer?

ElwoodBlues 05-01-2003 08:51 PM

that is a beautiful mahcine. i've always loved BMWs

Kind of, Alpina does everything for BMW's though.

samiam 05-03-2003 09:07 AM

Great car. Enjoy it.

Deuce66 05-03-2003 02:22 PM

Nice car, I'm jealous. But if I had my choice, I'd have a regular manual tranny. Having the stick on the left side would be wierd tho =)

slacker00 05-03-2003 06:41 PM

B3... sick! I would love to live in europe!

nimi 05-05-2003 02:56 AM

Nice car yes, but it has the steering wheel on the wrong side for my taste :D

schteve1 05-05-2003 06:01 AM

i fail to see what's wrong with having the steering wheel on the right hand side? ;)

Damn the left hand side-driving world!

Cheers for the compliments btw, i needed a few to convince me that i'd bought the right car.

schteve1 05-05-2003 06:03 AM

Hmm, don't understand why i got banned on my old user account, thats strange

w3r7y 05-14-2003 03:38 PM

I think the new beemer M3's are toight like a toiger

focalevo 05-14-2003 04:49 PM

The new M3's are really sweet. Have you seen the new M3 CSL? Basically, an in house tuned M3. 352 horses, mostly carbon fiber construction to reduce weight, and still cheaper than a Porche GT3, Road and Track just ran an article saying it will be produced,(it was originally a concept).

Your Alpina does look really good, too bad I walk outside to a Focus, kinda makes me want to stay in bed.

thrae 05-15-2003 06:47 AM

sweet ride and some funny replies!
