2005 Nissan Skyline
The production of GT-R R35 will officially start in Japan. The R35 should debut in Japan in 2005. People in Japan are excited to find out that they are creating another great sports car. They will possibly be equipped with a new 3.3 liter V6 turbo charged engine. For more information, click on read more on the bottom.
The new R35's engine will be called VQ33DET; it will be lot bigger from R34's RB26DET. The new engine will not be inline-6 but it will still keep the twin-turbo. The new engine will produce 380hp @ 7000rpm and 361 ft-lb @ 4500rpm. The new R35 might have the new so called "Electric Turbo" that spins the turbine electronically. It also comes with new 4WD system called "e-4WD" that will elctronically control the motor as well. Everybody in Japan are dying to see the new GT-R. Check back for more information. ---------- Of course this will be sold to 2005 Japan market...will we see it come to the US shores? It also seems like it's not going to use the same platform AWD of the Infiniti badged systems. it's definitely nothing like the Skyline Concept I posted a few months back.

Bah. The straight-6 is a classic; it'll be interesting to see whether the V6 is as strong and can stand up to modifications as well.
And the styling? Yuk. I've liked some of the new look Nissans, like the 350Z, but this... The classic Godzillas are latter day, high-tech muscle cars, and look like it. This doesn't. |

About a decade back, the Skyline GT-R was competing the main Aussie Touring Car championship of the time. They were pounding the snot out of the best "Aussie" V8s of the time. One car rag took a stock GT-R and ran it against a race prepped Holden Commodore SS. It beat it on the track. Consistently. The GT-Rs are also heavily modded - the standard straight 6 is incredibly strong, and people can easily put it up around 500 - 600 HP without changing the engine internals - just mods to the ECU, intake, turbo, and exhaust system. Japanese hot rodders have taken them into the 750 - 1000+ HP range with new gearboxes, but still on the standard block. Hopefully it'll drive the price of older models down and I can afford an older one in decent nick. |

Really not seeing how that's a rip off. Skyline tail lights have traditionally been that circular shape, and quad-exhaust is not a Ferrari-only feature.
Those are the only real similarities I can see between the two cars

4 taillights, they both ripped off the corvette. Anyways, I think (from these pictures anywas) that the ass-end of the concept Skyline is not good. It's too tall and skinny. Doesn't look low and sleek like the skylines of yore.

I don't know anything about Skylines except that they kick ass, and that this one looks freaking ugly If I was a rich bastard like Bill Gates I'd buy one with my pocket change and also have the body custom made by someone who specializes in that... yeah. That body is too damn ugly.
