2005 Nissan Skyline
The production of GT-R R35 will officially start in Japan. The R35 should debut in Japan in 2005. People in Japan are excited to find out that they are creating another great sports car. They will possibly be equipped with a new 3.3 liter V6 turbo charged engine. For more information, click on read more on the bottom.
http://www.autofiend.com/images/articles/r35%201.jpg http://www.autofiend.com/images/articles/r35%202.jpg The new R35's engine will be called VQ33DET; it will be lot bigger from R34's RB26DET. The new engine will not be inline-6 but it will still keep the twin-turbo. The new engine will produce 380hp @ 7000rpm and 361 ft-lb @ 4500rpm. The new R35 might have the new so called "Electric Turbo" that spins the turbine electronically. It also comes with new 4WD system called "e-4WD" that will elctronically control the motor as well. Everybody in Japan are dying to see the new GT-R. Check back for more information. ---------- Of course this will be sold to 2005 Japan market...will we see it come to the US shores? It also seems like it's not going to use the same platform AWD of the Infiniti badged systems. it's definitely nothing like the Skyline Concept I posted a few months back. |
The back resembles that of the Ferrari 575M Maranello....just maybe.
|
I like it!
|
Bah. The straight-6 is a classic; it'll be interesting to see whether the V6 is as strong and can stand up to modifications as well.
And the styling? Yuk. I've liked some of the new look Nissans, like the 350Z, but this... The classic Godzillas are latter day, high-tech muscle cars, and look like it. This doesn't. |
Droooooooolll... It looks like it eats civics... I want one...
IMHO it does look like the concept posted earlier. Definitely based on it. |

About a decade back, the Skyline GT-R was competing the main Aussie Touring Car championship of the time. They were pounding the snot out of the best "Aussie" V8s of the time. One car rag took a stock GT-R and ran it against a race prepped Holden Commodore SS. It beat it on the track. Consistently. The GT-Rs are also heavily modded - the standard straight 6 is incredibly strong, and people can easily put it up around 500 - 600 HP without changing the engine internals - just mods to the ECU, intake, turbo, and exhaust system. Japanese hot rodders have taken them into the 750 - 1000+ HP range with new gearboxes, but still on the standard block. Hopefully it'll drive the price of older models down and I can afford an older one in decent nick. |

You all stay back after class until I have an answer. |
I noticed that the first time I saw the picture.... was waiting for someone else to notice it too!
|

I dont know what else to say.. |
r34>*.skyline
but this still makes me want to spooge. |

ummm but then it's not a Skyline GTR.... |
That looks terrible
Maybe not terrible...but the 90's GTrs were seksy as hell Not all this curvy 350z shit :p |
I agree, it looks so cramped. It seems like new cars are getting uglier and uglier.
|
I think it looks pretty good, it's styled pretty similar to the Infiniti G35 coupe, which i love.

looks cool to me

ill take 1

Said it before, they ripped off the Ferrari 575M
http://www.autofiend.com/images/articles/r35%202.jpg http://www.ferrari.com/ferrari/image...0x490/rear.jpg |
Really not seeing how that's a rip off. Skyline tail lights have traditionally been that circular shape, and quad-exhaust is not a Ferrari-only feature.
Those are the only real similarities I can see between the two cars |
4 taillights, they both ripped off the corvette. Anyways, I think (from these pictures anywas) that the ass-end of the concept Skyline is not good. It's too tall and skinny. Doesn't look low and sleek like the skylines of yore.
|
I can't quite see the rip off thing either... similarities in quad exhaust and circular taillights, sure....but hardly a rip off. :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
IMO, looks horrid, especially when compared to the last two generations. |

It's kool but I love the body style of the old R34's better
|
I don't know anything about Skylines except that they kick ass, and that this one looks freaking ugly :) If I was a rich bastard like Bill Gates I'd buy one with my pocket change and also have the body custom made by someone who specializes in that... yeah. That body is too damn ugly.
 |
Yea looks too much like the g35 or whatever it's called
No me gusta |
The G35 is the R35 skyline, but in the US.
|
sorry but to typical nissan. Just seeing to much maxima-ish/z design similarities
|
Sad to see Nissan taking a great car and making it look ugly as shit.
|
wow that is incredible. im excited for these cars to come out. the R34's own!!!
|
that is ugly, the skyline is my favorite car, but if they start looking like that, ill have to find a new car to love
|
Man, I liked the R34 look. This is too much like a 350z. :(
|
what happened to the whole 280HP limit tradition the japanese car makers had? not that i mind but curious nonetheless
|
rear end looks way to cheap and G35ish...don't they realize why people liked the R34? It's DIFFERENT....and awesome...:)
|
Josh Lyman: G35 = Nissan Skyline R35.
|
that looks bad ass !!
|
i love nissan and this skyline is the perfect penetration for nissan into "ultra exotic". r35 ferrari slayer anyone? just hope the price tag isnt "ultra" high.
|
Eh, I wouldn't really call it a ferrari slayer -- it doesn't seem to quite live up to the Skylines of old, or at least not from what I've seen so far.
We'll see, though. |
aww man what did they do to it??
|
Ruined. Absolutely ruined a great, sexy car. The skyline was low, wide, sleek. This looks like a cockroach.
|
not seeing the rip off.....
|
That just looks exactly like the g35 coupe!?
|
ace: It is the G35 coupe, only in Japan the G35 coupe is the Nissan Skyline
|
I like it, but it's cool factor will never come near the Skylines that have come before it. Regardless, it still needs to be brought over to the US. :)
|
Dem ain't the true pix of R35 Skyline GTR.
The R35 Skyline is available now in Japan. We know it as the G35 coupe. Same thing. The GTR version may just go as the "GTR" this time, as opposed to the R35 Skyline GTR. The closest pics are here: http://nismo.webpathways.com/ I didn't like it at first but there is a lot about it that fits. Burly. |
yay
now more naive kids will put GT-R on the backs of their 'other' japanese cars! |
Sexayyy
