Went to a car show today

Out on St Armands Key, a pretty ritzy neighborhood. Definitely not like most car shows I've been to lately. No rods but tons of museum quality old iron.

Took a few pictures. They are here if anyone wants to check them out.

Probably my favorite was a small-block AC Cobra. We talked to the owner - he bought it new in '64 (I think). It's the only time I've seen one with the soft top installed. Nice. It was sitting on the original tires - now with 50 miles on them. He said he was just anxious to get this show and another out of the way so he could put the regular tires back on, take the top off, and drive it again (instead of trailering it to shows). Drive it again? LOL - I guess but I'd be one nervous SOB wheeling that around town!

Jaguar. Can't recall the name. Slick car. I think that it is one of the race mods, given the odd windscreen.

Looks like an E-type, but modded, very modded. Even the body is different from the original... maybe a prototype of some sort?

The boat was quite old and nice, but in fairness (it was a car show after all) it was connected to a cherry old Land Rover (or somesuch).

That car actually belongs to the boyfriend of a cow orker of mine. She told me today what it was but I can't recall exactly. It is a "something"-type Jaguar and it's a new reproduction (which probably explains why it's at the edge of the show out by the street instead of up in the middle with the museum pieces).

I don't think it's a V-12. I think it's a DOHC straight 6. This picture is the same car from the other side.

I need to talk this girl into introducing me to her boyfriend. He buys & sells exotics and was one of the sponsors of this show. Sounds like he'd be a cool guy to know.

Could be a D or E type; the D type had a single-seat race variant that looked like that.

While the 5 litre V12 in the top end ones seems impressive, it tells you how far the technology has come that Toyota and BMW now produce normally aspirated 6 cylinder 3.5 litre engines that develop more power!

definetly looks like a sweet show. I made it out to one of my local street rod shows this weekend, though i was too lazy to bring the camera. Nice cobra replica with a blown big block, highlighted a very good show.
