American Chopper

So who here watched the discovery chanel special American Chopper? I love that show. That Paulie is one hell of a craftsman. Those are seriously some of the coolest bikes I have ever seen. They make me want to go out and buy a motorcycle.... not that mine would be half as cool as that.

It's intresting to watch, I love to watch the interaction between Paulie and his father. I work for a car restoration shop and the owner of the shop and Paulie's dad are exactly alike.

I wish I had the skills to do that kind of work. Someday I hope to be able to play with cars and bikes as a hobby

I think the tension is a little contrived, but I do like the show. I really appreciate all the hard work and creativity that goes into those things. They are truely works of art

That show is good. I'd see it just for the work that they're doin' cause that stuff take MAD skills

i love watching a craftsman work, its nothing short of amazing. i am amazed that paulie hasn't hit his father in the head with a crescent wrench yet. having a boss act like paul sr. does would drive me nuts. it is also nice to see a shop making bikes on the east coast, instead of california.

American Chopper kicks butt. I never laughed so hard in my life when dad and son were leaving the shop in one episode and they were both backing away from the shop in their trucks and they hit eachother. That was so damn funny when Paulie ripped the bumper off his dad's Expedition

that show's real cool, but yeah those bikes ain't really my style, i'm also from the stripped-down barebones school. they're great craftsmen tho, and cool to watch

i feel liek mondak... the tension is a little contrived, but i feel like alot of it stems from paulie's tendencies towards doing thoughtless stupid things. the bikes themselves are nifty, but i'm not willing to pay what they charge for them.

I watch it, but I'm from the same school as Fearless_Hyena, I like them stripped down and flat black, function over fashion...eeerrr ya know what I mean.

Check out http://www.ratbike.org the bikes are a complete 180 from the glamour machines from OCC or WCC

They make awesome choppers, much better looking than most of the stuff that comes out of WCC, but the whole show seems scripted at several points. The spiderman chopper is absolutely beautiful.

But,what kind of name is "Teutul?" Is that a play on "Teutonic?" I'm guessing it's another stage name for the discovery channel to potray the "Outlaw bikers" with. I'm sure they'll never make a show on some bored, ordinary looking/named harley mechanics customizing harleys for doctors. The show seems too damn scripted for whatever reason.

I don't have cable out here, but when I was out in california last month I watched it and enjoyed it a lot. Does anybody know where I can find pics online of the black widow bike they did? I've been to they're site and they had the spiderman bike and the jet bike, but none of the black widow. If anybody knows where I could find a pic or two, that would be awesome.

Paul jr. needs to tell his father to shut the hell up untill he has something constructive to say. Looks to me that all he does is stand around looking for something to bitch about.

What kills me is that they obviously have enough money to just blow! The first show that I watched, was when they bought the new SUV and ran them into each other and then laughed about it!

X_cody_X: I think the black widow bike your reffering to is the spiderman bike. If you look under the we stuff on the gas tank youll see the black widow design. I think Paulie is a badass and his bikes are top notch.

Watched the second one the other night. The bikes look real nice, but for a minimum of 41K, they better look damn nice.

Don't know if I'd ever own one though...no shocks and all that.

I've always been a fan of Chica's real low bikes. Only thing I hate about them is that they always have used chains, and I'm more of a high HP belt drive man.

Zfleebin, the black widow bike and the spiderman bike are not the same bike. The spiderman bike had the tankd painted primarily red and had the black webbing and the spidey eyes. The black widow bike was a different beast altogether, but both werre killer.

That was a cool show, and they have a cool site, www.westcoastchoppers.com

I loved old flatheads and panheads until I got to know a guy with a few bikes. He spent more time fixing them than riding.

This flathead is sweet. It looks better in bare metal.

yeah, paulie is an artist. I'm not in to bikes, but that show is a lot of fun to watch (if you ignore the father son conflict)
