Anyone out there that owns a Toyota Matrix besides me?

Have had mine over a year now and i LOVE it. Room for everything and it looks sweet as hell.

if im not mistaken i think its the same car basically as pontiac's Vibe. Maybe not that one, but it is essentially identical to another car by a different manufacturer. Having a brain fart. oh well, it is a pretty small car. mid-size id say.It is a pretty small zippy car, though i think its personally very ugly. And for what i would need a station wagon for (if i needed one) this would be just too small. It looks nicer and much larger in the pictures than it does in real life. i found the trunk to be too small to be usefull as any sort of cargo carrier.

thats just one mans opinion, make of it what you will.

It's built on the same platform, in the same assembly plant as the Pontiac Vibe. It looks better than the Pontiac imo. My next door neighbor owns one, it looks decent.

I own an 03 XRS, Indigo Blue. It's a great car for what it is, a sporty stationwagon. I want to drive an XR with the supercharger to see how much more powerfull it is.

As for it being too small, with the seats down I fit a standard size bathtub still in the box and closed the rear hatch. The guy at Home Depot couldn't believe it.

My only complant is the quality is not as high as any of the previous Toyota's I have owned. The interior scratches if you look at it, and there are too many creaks.

With 18's and a 1.5" drop the Matrix looks really sweet.

They are ALL OVER the roads up here. Many people grab the "current trendy" car; the Beetle, the Mini, the PT Crusier, the Thunderbird. I kind of like the Matrix, not entirely sure. I never see the Vibe, however.

Sure looks a lot like the "sportier" version of the Ford Focus. Never been in one, though.

It's a great looking car. Both the Vibe and the Matrix are built by Toyota. They run on the same chassis as the Corolla. The base versions of both cars use the same 130hp engine as the Corolla/base Celica. The XRS (Vibe GT) use the 180hp engine from the Celica GTS. I haven't driven one, but I sat in one at the auto show and I liked the driving position quite a bit. If I were getting one, I'd definitely spring for a XRS because of the 6sp manual transmission.

For all those that have the matrix or wondering out about one.

Check out www.matrixowners.com Great forum for finding about all those creaks and a crap load of other stuff about this car.

I personaly installed a pretty "OK" audio system in mine and it sounds amazing.

I own the Red XR. I would also like to find about the new Super charger. But alas i dont have like 3.5k to spend on it.

Its a great looking midsize sport wagon.

When it is lowered down it looks ever better.

My only complaint is low torque at low RPM's.

And yes they have a AWD.

Alas, the AWD only comes with the base engine and an automatic trans.
