Always have insurance, and make sure that you always have Uninsured Mototist coverage as well.
Frankly, your damage ain't that bad, bro. Sucks that it happened to a pretty sweet car, but yours is fixable. The car from the second set of photos is hammered and they probably couldn't even recover the drivetrain. |

I received a broken left leg, two broken ribs, broken jaw in 4 places, laceration to left arm, severe bruising to right arm, 5 staples in the back of my head and was in ICU for 2 days due to my brain bleeding. I think the other guy who had no insurence got a broken ankle, and then never showed up for court. I had uninsured motorist, but it only will pay $25,000 of my medical bills, which exceeded $60,000.

Coucher I would sue his ass.....not like sue happy where you ask for millions of dollars but just enough to pay off your bills. Being in debt cause of something that is not your fault is not any fun.

I have filed a formal lawsuit against him, but as said, he can't be found. My lawyer is a payment on settlement only, so I don't pay a thing unless we settle for some amount. I am not declaring bancrupcy. That would be ignorant. I pay $25/month on the med bills, yeah, it may never get paid off if I don't find this guy, but they can't do anything to me about the bills.

Gotcha Coucher. I personally carry limits of 50/100/75 for just such a reason. Then again, I'm an insurance adjuster by trade, so I have seen this sort of thing often enough to know that I needed higher limits. Really sorry to hear about that, man, but at least you are still functional. Given the damage done, you could just as easily have been dead.

Do you have his real name? Try to subpoena his bank account records and you could have him in a real tight bond. Besides, if I were you, I'd be after him like a psycho for being such a stupid ass. Help darwin out on this one.

monoxide....that did frame damage? Doesn't look anywhere near deep enough to hit the frame (plus a little too high). Was that the only point of impact? im not doubting it did do frame damage, but wow, that doesn't look like it took too hard of an impact to do that. if that is the only damage though, not too big of a deal. I mean almost everything on the car is salvagable at least. or so it seems.

See, if you lived in Canada, you would not owe a dime for your medical work. That's the beauty of Universal Health Care coverage. No-one is denied medical treatment ever under any circumstances. Tough break on the car man. I wrote off an 82 Buick Regal in 88 i remember. Damage was not quite as bad, but it was a T-bone too. he ripped the front end of my car right off, but missed the passenger compartment. I walked away without a scratch. But man, i shook for a few hours after that one. Ka fucking boom. |
