old g.m. dashboards
has anyone here ever worked up under the dash?
i've got a '68 impala & the indicator for the right turn signal is burned out. i'm gonna try to fix it this weekend - looking for any advice....... thanks, |
I have a 72 GM... Have changed the indicator lights and I don't remember it being to difficult....
do you go up from underneath, or take the speedometer glass off?
I know on my old '64 Chevelle it was easiest to just remove the dash bezel to get to them. Not familiar with the dash/gauge configuration on the '68 Impala's though.
Haven't worked much on older GM products, but the older Fords that I've had were easy to work on dash-wise. Well, unless you count stereo installation in an early Mustangs. Booo, Ford.
My 82 van you go up underneath.
try autozone.com.should have instructions.some you can reach up under and pull it out and some the ins cluster cover needs to be removed. good luck.
I've had to pull cluster face off for every GM car I'd done it on, though none which dated back that far.
I used to work on a 67 impala all the time.
Dash face comes off, bulbs are right there I believe. It's been a while. |
