Yeah, I've been doing the ebay thing for a front bumper cover... see when people reck these cars... its always the front end. I have seen 1 driver side fender for this car in the past 6 months on ebay LOL. Plenty of passnager side but 1 drivers :( ohh well, time for a shorta-fit body panel

Neither Bondo or duct tape. This needs replacing, but were it repairable, it would warrant plastic repair, not body putty. Call around to local salvage yards. You may very well find the parts you need a bit quicker. Most yards will run the parts for you, calling other yards. Try it out.

And you'll get to see that crack again if you just 50/50 that panel.

I wrote an estimate on a 2003 Ford F-150. Some unknown dink smacks into this guy's brand new trunk. When I meet him, he's griping about how it messed up his paint. He's going on and on about how thick the paint is, confusing me. I get to the truck and he points out the very obvious crack running the entire height of his obviously plastic panel. I think he got a bruise on his jaw from where it hit the pavement when I told him that the side of his new truck was a big piece of plastic.

Plastic body panels suck. Plastic body panels on trucks spit.

Shit...hot glue or epoxy!

Yeah man, i'd hit up a body shop...

Moonduck 08-12-2003 04:58 PM

Nah, I'm an insurance guy. It's what I do for a living. If I get in an accident, I just fix it right with a plastic welder and the proper compounds/material depending on the type of plastic. Repair is better that way and I still pocket the money.
