Just bought a CD player for my car (88 BMW 325).

Pioneer Premier DEH-P740 CD/MP3 Player
50 watts x 4

Any thoughts on this particular unit?

i looked at that one, pretty badass display. my choice was between that and the jvc sh9750 and i went for the jvc with a coin toss. how does the pioneer deal with mp3s? can it do random across disc?

You can seperate them into folders. It can essentially read a data disk so you can fit 110+ songs onto a cd and play them all. Only downside is an extra couple seconds before each song to read the data.
