As far as four door performance saloons go, the XR6 or XR8 would be my pick - hands down.
Four door performance? I'd look at the four door Skylines, Toyota Altezza and the Diamantes.

Monaro smonaro.

I test drove the CV8. Nice, but no cigar. It's basically a coupe on a Commodore chassis.

Did you get to actually open it up??

I did a test drive from (in Brisbane) Zupps Holden to Lakeside raceway.

Best way to purchase a car - open it up during the test drive.

No, I didn't open it up, but only drove it around town.

Having said that, did you take the new BA Falcon XR6 Turbo out and let it rip?

In every roadtest and review, the XR6 Turbo came out top.

Don't get me wrong. The Monaro is a great car. I just prefer the XR6-T.

Got to take the Falcon only onto the H/Ways to the Sunshine Coast and the M1 F/Way down to the Gold Coast and back.

Not the same I'll admit, but still got to open it up a little. It too was a great test drive.

The Monaro for me was just a dream to drive.
