I like my car, so what the fuck is everybody's deal? If I wanted to, I could go get a loan tomorrow and buy a brand new Acura RSX, but what would that accomplish? Would it please every fucker who doesn't like the car I already have? Probably. Would it make me happy? No. So zip it if you don't have something nice to say.

I'm not going with the full exhaust or any headers on this engine because I plan to put an Integra GSR engine in next summer.
I'm still not sure about the Z3 fenders, but you're right, they are overplayed.

I'd say don't go with the z3 fenders, and the spoiler doesn't really do much of anything on a FWD car until you're going ove 100, but those are some really nice fog lights and mirrors. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like when it's done.

The spoiler is mostly for looks. Mine is sorta lame looking, and I've always wanted one that flipped up like that. Plus, I can't pass up carbon fiber.

Hopefully it turns out nice. The rims are most def cool. It is a civic hatchback correct?
Too mee, stock , they are probobly not the most eye appealing cars . BUT I have seen at least a few that were modestly modded (Bigger tastefull rims etc) and I couldent help but to say WOW. I think they definatly have lots of potential.

Here's a pic of another Civic across the parking lot from me. It has the same faded fender moldings:

Im not trying to be a dick here, i am an auto enthusiast here too, but i feel the Civic is the most played out car on the market, i mean PLAYED out. No matter what you do do it it has been done and likly on the other 300 Civics riding through town with their stock rims, lighted washer nozzel, fake HID's, altezzas, High picnic table type spoilers, unpainted bodykit, and hack job lowering that makes it bounce out of control. But i do like hatchbacks... |

If I may...
Civics may have been done, overdone, and re-done. However, I have never seen any car that made effective use of high intesity LEDs. Neon-all over the damn place, but LEDs? Maybe on some brake lights or turnsignals, but think of the possabilities! You could embed white LEDs in the wheelwells to highlight the wheels. You could put colored spotlighting on the ground under the car. It would be really hard to NOT hide the lights. Think of the interior lighting.... Have fun, good luck.

Why can't we say anything negative? If you want universal praise for your motor then why not post on www.maxpower.co.uk or similar? I shan't say anything negative for now because you 'asked' for forbearance, but if you change your mind I'm ready when you are.

I'm with Castex. You post a pic of the most played out Rice boy car on the market with a list of unoriginal mods in a public forum and don't want negative feedback. Good luck on that one. I'm waiting in line behind Castex for you to lift that restriction, but in the future if you don't want honest opinions, don't post it in the first place.
Now that I'm off my soapbox I have an actual question. I didn't see a single performance mod on that list, are you planning on leaving it "all show, no go", or are you doing glamour mods first then performance? Last edited by TwistedFate; 07-22-2003 at 10:09 AM.. |

oh, and even though it's a civic and lots of people already modded theirs. just keep on doing what your doing because it's your car. just because it's a honda doesn't make it rice, i don't see other people ridicule ford mustangs and camero. sure they are fast, but the mods that were performed on them have been done over and over again. and the new generation mustang/camero drivers are the idiots who sport the leds wind shield squirters, turn signals, stickers and such

Why are you all dying to post negative feedback?
I have never understood the notion that the first thing one must do is loudy declare why someone else's idea is wrong. What's up with that? What difference could it possibly make? It's his car, obviously he's going to make it like he wants, so what's the point? Why does this notion prevade the entire TFP, and world at large?

Billege:I want to post negative feedback, because he vehemently doesn't want me to. That's the kind of person I am. Also, I'm into the performance more so than the looks, so spending a ton of money on something that does nothing to improve my driving experience seems silly to me. Your right it's his car and he can do with it what he wants to. By the same token, it's my opinion and I'll do what I want to with it. I'll respect his work if it's well done whether it's a played out look or not. I, however, see far too many folks buy Honda's thinking it will be easy to make a street rod out of it because of the plethora of aftermarket parts for it, but they half ass the job. Parts don't fit well, paint has orange peel, and it never runs because of shoddy mechanical work. Like I said, if a good job is done, I'll respect the work put into it even if I personally don't like the way it looks. And yes BoCo, I'm sure you aren't some little kid who is planning to do a half ass job of it, but does anybody ever plan to do a half ass job?
evo_schen: I'm an equal oportunity offender. Rustangs and other muscle cars are fair game too, if they don't have the performance to back it up. Performance mods are going to be done over and over, because there are only so many routes to good HP and handling. Glamour mods get played out because people get tired of looking at the same old thing over and over again. Bright paint, lights and neon everywhere, and a huge spoiler at the back of a FWD car(??? I have yet to understand the logic behind this one) are so "been there, done that". |

If he wanted something balls out fast for cheap, he would buy some old camaro or a DSM. What would seem silly to me, would be to dump a bunch of money into this car for performance. I mean think about it, A jackson supercharger kit probobly costs upwards of $3000 and it would still be a 15 second car. You can buy an entire "fast car" like I mentioned above for that price. BoCo. Check out these seats, im not sure if they would fit, but they look killer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2424557895

Bottom line is Civics aren't race cars. You can dump alot of money in performance mods in them, and they are still slow in the 1/4 mile and the FWD doesn't handle road courses well without a professional driver. The other option is do a lot of glamour work on it and look like a wannabe. Maybe the scene is different in your area, but I can only talk about what I know. |

With the exception of a few of you, the majority of you are complete fucking morons.
1. I bought the car in 1995, brand new, before they were even very popular. Just because every damn Asian high school kid puts a 5ft wide wing on his doesn't mean I'm going to sell mine. I bought the car as a way of saying "fuck you" to my bitch mother who kicked me out of her house without any money to my name a mere 4 months after she did so. It's since been an awesome car that gets 40mpg, has enough room to fit 2 bikes and most of the things I own; I've even moved pretty much everything I own in that car twice, albeit on multiple trips across town. It also has plenty of interior room and a bulletproof drivetrain. I'd be as big a fucking retard as you dorks if I was to sell it because others have ruined theirs. 2. I have plans to buy a brand new Integra GSR engine, tranny and axles next summer to replace the current engine. It will have 170hp stock which is more than enough. If I needed an engine or car to compensate for lacking a big dick then I'd buy whatever pieces of crap you people drive, but I have no need to do that. 3. Twisted Fate: I'll post whatever the fuck I feel like, you little bitch. If you don't like it, I'll buy you a plane ticket to St. Louis and gladly meet you there to greet you in an unsavory way. You say you're into performance, and so am I, but I prefer a car that handles corners more than I care about juvenile impromtu drag races at stop lights. If you want to burn out and look like a fool, then go right ahead. I'll have more fun taking twisty country blacktop while you're getting your well-deserved ticket. Snoogans: Thanks, dude. Pretty damn sweet mirrors, huh? 89transam: Thanks, dude, but I already have seats on the way and they weren't nearly that expensive. To all you dumbasses: say whatever you want, but expect me to reply to your idiotic B.S.
