I know in Australia they have really long trucks because of the straight roads across the outback. Is this where this took place?

I don't think that was in Australia. Though the people in the video not speaking English doesn't necessarily mean anything, the fact that the sign on the back of the last trailer wasn't in English makes me think it was taken elsewhere.

But yes, very long "road trains" are commonly used in Australia. The record (though it wasn't pulled very far) was a road train that was just short of one mile long.
