2000 VW Jetta GLX VR6...wo0t wo0t
My dad picked up his new car today
A nice 2000 Jetta VR6, midnight blue, with 35% tint fronts, 20% tints backs, moonroof, 190HP 2.8L V6 Manual powerplant, 17" Momo rims wraped in Pirelli low pro tires. Heres some pics...what does everyone think? It has the same torquey feel as my Bonneville SE, but it rides much firmer..as expected... |

Thanks for the tip....you're right, I believe its 190ft-lbs torque...and 174 HP, but....the exhaust has been done, so he's getting a bit more out of it.
Got any more ideas on what we can do to his car!?

nice car!
upgrades: 1. Intake 2. Cat-back Exhaust 3. Exhaust header 4. High-Flow Cat 5. Performance Chip That'll add probably 20+ horsepower, and it'll be quite a bit quicker... After those mods it's on to expensive things like a bigger throttle body, porting, cams, valves, valve springs, etc.. I'd get yourself a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs. They lower the car about 1.5 inches to give it a more aggressive stance. The don't change the ride quality hardly at all either. (they are what I have on my 95 eclipse GSX)

first off
German does not equal rice You will not receive significant gains on a supercharger with a new chip...you get the best results from a chip on a turbo charger... ALSO, why didn't he wait for the new GLI! I hear it may have the new DSG Paddle Shift system! I have a 99.5 GLS...4 banger...love the thing Word of warning...after 30k miles...the suspension lowers (settles)...you'll have to be carfeful if you take it to shop for anything, those front bumper skirt things like to rip off

2000 VW vr6 Temp. Gauge issue
Hello all-
I purchased my first VW a couple days ago and it has a few issues that disturb and confuse me. 1. My temperature gauge is always on the coldest at 0 degrees. Basically all the way to the left. 2. My car jerks hard when I exceed 20 mph and then i can continue to accelerate smoothly after that one jerk at 22 mph. Can any one please educate me about these two issues PLEASE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH. |
