BMW Art Cars
 

I've not ever had the opportunity to see any of these vehicles in anything more than just in a magazine. I'm going to have to make the trek out to see these vehicles. The last vehicles I saw there was a Yugo art exhibit back in the early 90's.

Below are some youtube vids I found but they don't convey the breadth that the link above does.

One time, as I passed through Grand Central, they had an art exhibition (by students) called Yugo Next. They didn't just paint the cars, they turned them into accordions, movie theaters, and cigarette lighters.

I saw several of the originals back in the day...WOW !

What fun! Creativity + motors all rolled into one!

Must be something about those crazy Bimmer folks...I took this pic at a track day last summer. The polka-dot one had little notes all over the car from the driver/owner's children. Stuff like "good luck daddy" and "my daddy is the best"

I have a poster on my wall of the first 5 art cars from 1990. It was my parents that got to see them in person, I was really young :(

this artist Robin Rhode totally took the BMW art car to a new level. i saw this a few months ago and it's awesome.
