That ultra narrow rear wing ultra wide front wing combo just looks odd. Other than that I like how much cleaner the cars look without all the ridiculous winglets and other cheesy looking addons. And yeah those front wings look like they will do a lot of damage, seems it would be awful easy to misjudge an overtaking maneuver and clip a tire or something like that.

Whoa. Slicks.

Looks kind of silly, but if it makes the racing better then good (how many times have they changed the formula now?). Glad to see the winglets gone, made the cars look like warthogs. Greeat video, when the engines all sounded different, and Jackie Stewart was announcing.

I'm impressed, and I can't wait to see how they drive.

I like the new look. Honestly I'm not the biggest fan of the tall, slender rear wing, but the cars look SOOOOOO much better without all the aero bits pasted all over.
|
Without the chimneys and louvres, the side pods make it look a bit like an indy car. Especially so with that low wing on the Honda.

Wide 2009-spec wings creating quite a stir
Robert Kubica is concerned that the new front wing regulations for 2009 may result in plenty of broken carbon-fibre. The dubious aesthetics of the BMW Sauber team's 2009-modified interim car at Barcelona this week have raised eyebrows, but the Polish driver seems more concerned about the functionality of the ultra-wide front wings. "It is too wide," he is quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport, explaining that it will be all too easy to break the wings against the wheels of competitors in the frantic opening moments of a race. "I am curious to see how many (wings) will be flying at the first race in Australia," Kubica added. xoxoxoo |
