Me too! Mine was a 73, white with a black vinyl roof and Cragar five spokes. I bought it when I was 15 and got it on the road when I got my license at 16.

Quickly moved up to an 86 MR2.

My first ride was a 1988 Ford tempo, with no speedo and no gas gauge. Did great e-brake slides though.

My first baby is a 1971 mustang fastback with a 302 and a c4 tranny. Got it for 2800 and have put about 2500 more into it, mostly trans and rear end work. Runs and sounds great, man i like old mustangs.

Oh and GGGD, sell your car and buy the mustang GT with a V8. Why own a mustang if its only a v6???

1990 Honda Accord EX Sedan.....crashed it a month after getting it. My insurance company paid to get it fixed ($8000) in damage, and currently I still own it. It NOW has 191,000 miles on it and is my *beater* car. =)

The first car was a 76 Ford Maverick. I destroyed it in less than a year, and have been looking ever since for another one like it to replace it with.

I still have my first car. Not as illustrious as yours - a 1986 Toyota Corolla XL. I keep it running mostly out of stupid sentimentality. It wouldn't get NZ$500 if I tried to sell it, and I've spent thousands on it the the last few years (rust work).

Still, the engine's sweet - over quarter of a million clicks and nary a peep.

Damn right there built to take a beating.

I also beat the shit out of my van but it still runs great, because I take good care of the engine

edit: sorry, no pics of anyone under 18

Later, as soon as I graduated from college and earned a paycheck, the first real car I ever owned I bought for myself; it was a '67 XKE Jag. I should never have sold that car

My first car was a Shit Brown 1985 GMC Jimmy 4x4 2 door. It was in perfect condition for a 17 year old car. I had it for about 6 months, til I sold it so I could buy my current car, a Blue Ridge Pearl 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Coupe

I started driving in 1999, and my first car was a 1990 BMW 325i. I sold it 3 years later in 2002 and bought a 1992 BMW 525i, which I still drive, until I'm able to afford a 1997+ 5 series.

For all you aussies out there, I had (and still got) a 1972 Ford Falcon XA. It had a 250 ci, and sucked fuel like nothing else. It went to hell and back. 4 wheel drum brakes with power assistants. Stopping the thing was a joke. I had lots of shags in it. Nice big bench seats. ......

Ah, the Falc-hoon, back when they were still actual Aussie cars, rather than an accumulation of parts from all over the Ford world.

My first car was a 1982 Ford F-150 Explorer long bed. It was big, red, had two gas tanks, and I bought it for $5

I have no idea how many miles it had on it, but it got me around just fine, and was a great way to learn about basic maintenance.

1987 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. AMC 242 4.0L i6 (before chrysler really owned jeep, when it was an American Motors car). Bulletproof engine.

Dont think i will ever get rid of that car, it just wont die. 250k miles on the car, absolutely no engine or tranny work (course i dunno if tranny fluid has ever been changed), and 4x4's insanely good. Buddy has a new Wrangler, lifted a little bigger tires, and has only been ever able to go 1 place i wasn't adn only cuase of clearance.

Yup, that car will never die. PLus, gobs of tourqe, and 4w low could pull a house down...

You aren't shittin'; my son-in-law has an '80 Turbo Trans-Am, the 301 is ventilated. He can't find ANY 301's to rebuild; the car is choice; even the chicken on the hood is perfect, but the engine is just a boat anchor. Y' wanna hang on to that 301; they're impossible to find.

My car was known as "the Beast", not because of its size or power but the way i would drive it and push the baby to its limits. It was an '85 Dodge Aires in a Sky Blue (also known as the cloud-mobile becasue the paint was chipping and there was a white undercoat) didn't come with map lights, came with front row bench seat... in pleather, and it only had an AM radio. :-P fun times in that car till i had to give it up to the Salvation Army since it didn't pass its emission test and it would have costed to much to fix the car.

Haha BeBogus, that was what my chevelle was called! It too did not have map lights and only AM Radio and a vinyl front bench. And since it was a 67, I never had to worry about emissions
