Methinks it's time to get my Dart back on the road.... Reading how sad some people are that they've sold them makes mewant to put the effort into it and keep it. :)
My first car was a Shit Brown 1985 GMC Jimmy 4x4 2 door. It was in perfect condition for a 17 year old car. I had it for about 6 months, til I sold it so I could buy my current car, a Blue Ridge Pearl 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Coupe
I started driving in 1999, and my first car was a 1990 BMW 325i. I sold it 3 years later in 2002 and bought a 1992 BMW 525i, which I still drive, until I'm able to afford a 1997+ 5 series.
For all you aussies out there, I had (and still got) a 1972 Ford Falcon XA. It had a 250 ci, and sucked fuel like nothing else. It went to hell and back. 4 wheel drum brakes with power assistants. Stopping the thing was a joke. I had lots of shags in it. Nice big bench seats. :)......

My first car was a 1982 Ford F-150 Explorer long bed. It was big, red, had two gas tanks, and I bought it for $5 :)
I have no idea how many miles it had on it, but it got me around just fine, and was a great way to learn about basic maintenance. |
My first car was an '83 Cavalier. Whee. Very shortly I got into 70's era Jeeps, Mustangs, etc.
1987 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. AMC 242 4.0L i6 (before chrysler really owned jeep, when it was an American Motors car). Bulletproof engine.
Dont think i will ever get rid of that car, it just wont die. 250k miles on the car, absolutely no engine or tranny work (course i dunno if tranny fluid has ever been changed), and 4x4's insanely good. Buddy has a new Wrangler, lifted a little bigger tires, and has only been ever able to go 1 place i wasn't adn only cuase of clearance. Yup, that car will never die. PLus, gobs of tourqe, and 4w low could pull a house down... |

1977 Chevy Monte Carlo. Had it for a year and didn't do anything but put gas in it.
'91 mazda 626...ehh...nothing out of the ordinary
91' Jeep YJ
77 Pinto !!!! Awesome ! some jackass friends of mine even wrote "IROC-P" on it !!!!
My car was known as "the Beast", not because of its size or power but the way i would drive it and push the baby to its limits. It was an '85 Dodge Aires in a Sky Blue (also known as the cloud-mobile becasue the paint was chipping and there was a white undercoat) didn't come with map lights, came with front row bench seat... in pleather, and it only had an AM radio. :-P fun times in that car till i had to give it up to the Salvation Army since it didn't pass its emission test and it would have costed to much to fix the car.
Haha BeBogus, that was what my chevelle was called! It too did not have map lights and only AM Radio and a vinyl front bench. And since it was a 67, I never had to worry about emissions

1981 Ford Cortina Ghia. Bloody fantastic Car. Ladies loved it, went like a rocket, had a great stereo.
Why did I hit that telegraph pole... |
My first car was an original VW Beetle, teh one with the air warmer instead of a heater and no fuel guage. Boy was it cold in the winter. All in all, it was fun to drive, probably because it was my first car.
1987 Nissan was my first one, great little truck
1987 Ford Bronco. Carbed 351W with a C6. Been driving it since '95. Gets about 10 mpg.
1976 Ford F150 Pickup - red - with standard shifting on the column.
89 chevy camaro RS.
1st car was a 1978 Camero, then a 1980 Mazda RX7, then 1985 Honda Accord, then 1991 Acura Legend ( which I still have, you can read about it in the Auto forum ) then bought wife a new 2000 4 runner when we had our little girl, and now looking at the Odyssey or Sienna minivan because were expecting another little girl.

got it when i was 16...learned stick on it...still driving it everyday 1991 Alfa Romeo 164 Sport 5spd http://www.cardomain.com/id/alfar0meo |
Mine was a '69 Chevelle with a straight six cylinder. Blew that engine on the highway big time when I was 17.
'71 Pontiac LeMans Sport 350. TH350 tranny and an insanely steep rear gear. Just about impossible to keep the back wheels planted firmly. My parents supplanted that with a new '96 Oldsmobile Acheiva about six months later.
I had a 1982 Camaro. 6 Cylinder auto. Man that car was slow. Then I got a 1992 Nissan 240sx new when I graduated High School. I thought it was fast. A couple of trucks later, I bought a 2001 Mustang Cobra. It IS fast. It is pushing close to 500 HP at the wheels. It is alot of fun......
1981 Buick LeSabre hand-me-down from my grandma.
it was built like a tank. I once hit a low treebranch and knocked it off the tree, but no damage at all to the buick |
'92 Acura Integra GS, automatic. It's a great car, has tons of miles and keeps on chugging with absolutely no hiccups. I got it only recently, installed a new air filter, and a few minor things, but I'm very happy with the performance - just wish it was manual.
Next car, though, is definitely going to be a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, that or a Mazda RX-7. |
1984 Ford Ranger 4 cyl short-bed, got it when I turned 15 in 1995, rusted through the roof (actually floor) didn't run to well but with a little work lasted 3 months past my 16th birthday before it jumped time thus leaving me without a ride...It was nice while it lasted, for such a bad condition truck it sure got up
1991 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab...the 2.9L V6, 5-speed manual.
I loved it. The A/C didn't work, neither did the power locks. It did 0-60...eventually. It could bark the tires, but only if it was raining :). I put the first dent in it with my ass...i ran and slid across the hood, thought I was cool, and went to do it again. The second time, though, I didn't jump high enough and smashed right into the driver's front fender...the dent is still there. It still runs, most of the time...it's in the backyard. Holy shit, I'm turning into a redneck... MPEDrummer |
'88 Le Baron convertible. I coulda kept it, but meh...
close to Jerpitcher, I had a 1986 (really 1985 1/2) Nissan pickup.
1984 Olds Toronado 307 V8
I drove a a 1963 Volvo sports sedan.. The name of the car was actually just the male symbol (arrow up from a circle)
This 63 volvo has dual slide carbs on a four cylinder engine. (tons of power)and would easily break 115 MPH, I was scared to go any faster cuz i had shitty tires... |
1999 Chysler Town and Country is a good minivan
86' chevy nova. 3 spd auto, 88 hp.
Was light and stiff as hell tho! |
2003 gmc sierra...i was po' so i didn't buy my first car til last year.
My first car. Mine had a cloth rollback sunroof and fat low profile tires but otherwise looked like this.
http://www.avonhill.com/thumbnails/c...ta_Celica.jpeg |
99.5 (2000 early release) Jetta GLS, 115 HP BEAST! *that was for the Golf III guy! YEAH BABY YEAH*
Now I upgraded to the Jetta GLI, 200 V6 6 Speed! |
1995 Geo Prizm. Learned to drive in it. Love that car.
'68 cutlass supreme hardtop. it was rusty & ugly, but it was fast.
84 Off-white (ok it USED to really be white) Volkswagon Cabriolet convertible
it was a shitty, yet cool car. RIP |
'78 T/A 6.6 Never could hurt it.
1976 Nova SS......Orange w/ Black Stripes......Plaid Interior.....hard to blend in driving that baby......parents were pretty smart to choose that color!!!!
I don't have a car of my own just yet (still in college and really don't want to pay car insurance) but I did learn to drive in a metallicized steel-gray 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320. My Dad recently got rid of it because he wanted a Bimmer; as you can imagine, it was emotional to lose a car so close to my heart for driving.

Identification All new body with horizontally slatted grille split by vertical bar bearing the Holden badge protruding front guards extend past headlights and merge with front bumper. The HD had a completely new body (following EH). Engineered entirely in Australia, the new model offered substantial increases in passenger and load space. Disc brakes were offered as factory option for the first time. Early demand for the HD Holden was exceptionally high. During the first few months, sales outstripped those of the record breaking EH. The X2 motor was offered as an option on all models and developed 105kW by virtue of the twin carbys, a modified camshaft, new manifolds, and a low restriction exhaust system. The three speed hydromatic transmission was replaced by the Powerglide two speed. With a choice of three engines, two gearboxes and an expanded options list (which included the latest fashion , the vinyl roof) the HD gave the Holden buyer the greatest choice yet. In 1965 20,000 Holdens were exported. |
My first car was a brand new 1985 VW Jetta
And it's still on the road today. I'm on my fourth car since then, but the person I sold it to still uses it as a second car. |
My first car was a 1990 Acura Legend V6 L.
Power Everything, Moonroof, Air Conditioning, Automatic. This car hauled ass. :D I still have it but the transmission is pretty much done. |
http://www.cob.niu.edu/faculty/m50mmm1/ford2.jpg
1995 Ford F-150 Long-wheel base, 'cept mine has a cattle guard, custom steel bumper in the back, and a headache rack. 5.0L V8, this sucker had some ponies under the hood, but not much speed, only gets up to 95 mph. Anyways, love my truck, saved my life a few times. |
just got my first car of my own 3 days ago, a brand new accord coupe 5 speed stick w/ leather...love it!
1968 Ford Galaxie XL Convertible
1954 Triumph 4-door sedan. brother made me a bet I couldn't make it run. I got it running and he gave it to me 13 years old!
(long time ago!) |
1995 Cadillac Sedan de Ville (Silver w/ Red Leather Interior)
1995 Ponitac Grand Prix SE 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX The Cadillac was given to me, however it kept getting keyed since I was still in high school, so it got traded in for the GP which I drove until its transmission bit the dust in June (at least it lasted me through BS and MS degrees). At which time I bought my first car. The WRX, which can hopefully last me through the P.hD. |
Mazda B-2000 pickup truck. Had a lot of fun in that little truck!
66 Valient Signet, quite rare. valient front end with the barracuda rear glass. I took out the 318, put in a 60 over 340 wedge, 6 pack with the three deuce carbs and added the barracuda hood scoop. 727 trans w/ 3000 stall, dana 60 rear end N50 rear tires.

1980 Toyota Celica GT :)
1989 Ford Sierra 2 litre 120 bhp. More rust holes than metal. God what a crap car but I did get it for free.
A 1964 Ford Fairlane 500. This was in the early 70's. It was given to me by my father's third wife.
I also had a 1972 Honda CB350 motorcycle at the time. It died when the driveshaft broke and set the rear seat on fire. It coasted into a no parking zone. I scrapped it and barely got enough to pay the parking tickets. |
73 Olds Omega 2door with the Rocket 350
Blue with tons of rust by 81 when I got it. It still smoked the tires and I scared the shit out of my friends a time or two in it. |
1982 chevy c20 pickup with a 350 built for pulling power. Fun truck. But my first car was a 1983 alfa romeo GTv6. Mine had a 3.0 v6 in it and was the size of a CRX and rwd. What a fucking sleeper.
evo |
1977 Chevy Malibu.
It was a hand-me-down from dad. It had over 100,000 miles on it, but still ran decent enough. I aquired it in 1987. The first car my wife & I bought after getting married was a 1992 Saturn SL1, with a 5-speed manual transmission. It shifted like a dream. Man, I miss that car!! |
71 pinto no guts but cheap on gas!
my first car was an 84 chevy cavilier station wagon. i think just about everything broke on piece of shit. my friends and i nicknamed it the grunion(after the fish). because if it was a fish it would just flop around on the beach gasping for air... it was a fun car for high school and got me everywhere. but the one thing that pisses me off the most about that damn car was all my friends got laid in it and i never did...
a '70 Ford Mustang coupe like this one:
http://ebay2.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_...a8cefc/i-1.JPG except it was blue and had the plain steel wheels (painted same blue as car) with dog-dish hubcaps |
First car i got a few months ago. It is a 1992 Honda civic CX hatchback. only 86400 when i got it. Now it has a RS akimoto intake and a Flowmaster muffler. No speed limiter, so it goes up to at least 115. 1.5 liter 70 h.p. firecracker!
1986 Pontiac Fiero V6. It seemed much cooler before I pulled the engine twice within the first year, I learned the meaning of "GM quality" the hard way...
My first car was a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS.
Bought just the body/rear end when I was about 14, then built a motor/tranny for it and did the interior. |
1992 Dodge Daytona, 3.0L V6
1976 Blue Chevy pickup....oh if that thing could talk!
1980 daihatsu charade! 1.0 litres, 3 cylinders, FWD. Was actually a quite fun car considering the size of the engine. Rock solid too- took all my punishment and begged for more.
Quote:

My first car was an old beat up 80's old school crappy celica. HAHA the hting would not shift into gear sometimes.
Was 2000 VW golf.. I loved that car. I was in an accident though so I am without one. I really lucked out on getting it.. Was my step-bro's but he couldn't afford to keep it when he moved. So I convinced my parents to just let me have it. No down payment = good.
That thing was so fun to drive (manual). And my accident was hitting ice and going into a pole not 40' away.. I imagine there wasn't much I could do but I cant remember. =/ |
http://www.lyaec.homestead.com/files/mudcorner.jpg
It was fun :) My brother drives it now, and I bought a '98 Chevy 1500 z71. Both really solid cars and handle the MN winters pretty well. more pics at www.lyaec.homestead.com |
1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Maroon. What a sweet, little car. Was still running like a champion when it was traded in.
2001 Honda Civic EX. I adore my car. Yes, everyone and their grandma drives a Civic. It's a good, reliable car. And it's all stock. I haven't put in any nitro or whatever in it. Why bother?
mine was a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 with a 390 Police Intercerptor engine. Boy, that was one fast car.
'85 Jeep CJ-7. Black with Blue Renegade package. I loved that car. I hated that car.
1999 Toyota Tercel, has lasted me the last 4 years!
1981 chevy citation... it was a beast of a car j/k
1994 toyota camry, still have it with about 146k miles.
not a great performer, but cars are fun to play with when you don't care about them. ;) |
1978 Ford Thunderbird.
Affectionately known as the "War Pig." It was dark metallic brown witha brown vinyl roof. Quishy brown interior too. Spoke hubcaps, whitewalls, she was a sweet looking beast. Not. It had the 400ci V8 wit ha 4 barrel on it. Man, when you're 16 and working part tiem at a grocery store, it gets hard to keep gas in a car like that, which is ultimately why I got rid of it. It had two rust holes in the trunk, just behind the rear wheels. Not visible from outside. Anything that went in the trunk would be cooled after a 10 minute drive due to the air getting in and circulating. A Thunderbird with a built in cooler. Always a good thing. |
1978 VW Scirrocco.
my first was a 1979 malibu classic.
smoked a little, small motor, bad paint, cool wheels.... I was awsome. |
1966 Chevy Impala; Black.
Dad said if I wanted a car, I had to rebuild it first to see how it worked. '39 Cadillac 60 Special was what he bought me and I took my driver's test at 16 in it.
1994 Chevorlet Camaro Z28, now it's my project car. Thanks Mom and Dad. :)
Quote:

my first was a '94 black camry coupe V6LE with leather. it was a pretty fun car, had a nice dark tint. i liked that car, but it's on to faster and cooler things.
Mine was a 1984 Cutlass Supreme. I was 16 and my parents wanted me to have something "safe". It was a friggin hurse!
My first car . . .
A '64 Plymouth Valiant (already whippped to death)I bought off my best friend's dad for $50. (this was 1973) I beat the living shit out of that car; put it in the ditch many times; put about a million miles on it, and sold it for $75! |
A bronze, 1978 Ford T-Bird with a 351 Cleveland. That fucking car hauled some serious ass. My cousin and I drove it from Arizona to Cape Cod in 1999 and I gave it to him. I really miss that car and the lack of a car payment.
I really wish I had lost my virginity in it. Sigh. |
1991 eagle talon tsi AWD, had to sell it though. I plan on buying another 1st gen DSM eventually once I can afford a project car.
