Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Sorry for the small image sizing. Review from Edmunds: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=122744 Compared against the Evo IX: 0-60 in 4.8 seconds 70-0 braking in 155 ft .93g on the 200-ft skidpad I eagerly await it's arrival.

I test drove an VIII and a IX and didn't like either of them. They're pretty fast but the acceleration is extremely lacking from a roll. The power band is extremely narrow and rarely produces shove-you-in-your-seat moments. Drove like a rally car though.
That's a pretty slow 1/4 mile time for the X. 13.8? My SRT-4 would beat it for half the price. |

I'm amazed how the lancer has grown up from it's old colt origins to the rally beast it is today.
thanks for the small print I'll need to get new glasses.

I'm not too worked up over acceleration. The aftermarket is ready to pounce on this car, and if the engine computer is programmed the same way the Evo8 and 9 was, there's plenty of room for improvement.

I still would rather pay top dollar scouring and bargaining for an Evolution IV or V.
It was just an elite combination of the technology, drivetrain, power, and styling of the time. Although vast improvements have been made with regards to the later five generations since, an improvement in an area or two leaves much to be desired in another.

I saw the Evo 8 and 9 as the ugliest of the Evos. I prefered the simplicity of the Evo 3.

This thing is ugly. Evo 9 FTW.
Me thinks Mitsu is going to lose some loyal customers over this new "curves over drag strip" mentality How many street races occur with miles of vicious curves? How many internet videos do you see of "My Evo owning a GTO through the narrow, winding curves of Nice!!!!!!" Even moreso, how many circuit tracks exist when compared to drag strips? I'm sure it's an insane car, but when you lose a friendly drag race to a similar type vehicle, you can't say "well I would have you on the curves man!!! owned!!!!"
