Le Mans....Steve McQueen...
after getting HD D-TV this spring and having troubles with the installation.....( my 4x4 wood pole in crete kept warping out of allingment)....I put in a 3 1/2 steel pipe in 720 lbs of crete and now no problems....I watched "Le Mans" tonight in HD...WOWZER!!!!... the best racing movie ever, surpasses Grand Prix just from the tech standpoint....what a great movie!!!...If you have not seen it,do so at a theater or in HD with the sound up LOUD!!!!  ....xoxoxoo

I love the pure joy of watching 911s and 914s just doing what they do best. Even better, the story-line is really just an afterthought in LeMans, and it's easy to just fast forward through what little there is.

Bobby's mention of Steve McQueen was the irresistable draw for me. My first foray into Motors and it's about a damn car. Go figure. :)

Le Mans is a great watch -- I remember loving it as a racing-addled youngster -- but boy, it has no plot. There are barely any lines. I read that they totally rewrote the script, and worked without a script much of the time. The film, McQueen's vanity project, essentially bankrupted him.
*sigh* yet another reason I should get HD..... |
