What is this? Work smarter, not harder?

Low end torque on a decently powerful electric motor (given favorable overall power-to-weight ratio) is hard to beat.

Ahhh, this warms my heart since now I can just bide my time until all the hardcore sportscar afficianados sell off their crappy, slow Ferraris and move into Smart cars ...and hopefully this flood of used slow Ferraris on the market will cause their resale value to plummet and I can finally afford one.

Obviously, a heavily modified smart. I think they only have a 90hp engine.

Yea, this is crap. No modern Ferrari does 13.4.

The new Enzo does 11.1.

Sure, if you take a 90's Ferrari and race it vs. a heavily modified SMART you might get it.. but that's a bit disingenuous.

Hey Jinn, that 13.4 could very well have been the driver. That a modified smart car can beat a ridiculously heavy Ferrari doesn't surprise m in the least.

Definitely the driver. Did you notice the length it took him to get his foot of the brake, and even after that it looks like he spent a second trying to figure out which pedal was the gas pedal. If we're comparing small cars to Ferraris I've seen a 1987 Golf GTi get in under 13 seconds. Now, lets throw some turns in there and see the Ferrari dominate in the corners.

Oh of course, the Ferrari is a street car, not a strip car, and should be treated as such.

you guys burst my bubble ...I guess Ferraris might not depreciate as much as I was hoping

Elapsed time usually tells you more about the driver than the car. Too bad they don't give the trap speeds; factoring in an educated guess of car weight we could closely estimate the actual horsepower of each.

If I remember correctly, this Smart car was powered by a 1300cc? Hyabusa motorcycle engine.

Now that would be one hell of a fun play toy
