Question about Automobile lease terms.
Guys: I hope someone out here can help.
I haven't leased a car, but one of my relatives leased a car in Dec of 06. Unfortunately her husband passed a way from a long illness. The lease was in her husband's name and I have no idea about how a lease is terminated due to the death of the owner. She is going to return to her home country at the end of Aug, and I have no idea what her options are. Does anyone here know what we can do? She is sending some documents for me to read over but I have not received anything. |
why not just call the dealership and ask them? I'd try that first.

Leases are generally not terminated at the death of the lessor. They are financial obligations just like mortgages or loans, and are subject to either early termination fees or continued payment by surviving family.
